Community Meeting Info ★ Community Resources: ○ RA on Call → The RA on call essentially serves as someone who assists with urgent situations such as lockouts, maintenance issues, and personal emergencies. They are available every day of the week during the evening hours (7 PM until 8:30 AM the next day and 24/7 on WEEKENDS). The phone number for the RA on call is: (213) 220-6625. ○ Department of Public Safety (DPS) → Contact DPS in the event of an emergency or a non emergency. Please refrain from contacting 911 as they will just refer you to DPS. Emergency phone number = (213) 740-4321. Non-Emergency phone number = (213) 740-6000. The LiveSafe app is also useful if you would like to have someone monitor you when you feel unsafe. ○ CSC → The CSC (M-F 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM ; SAT 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) serves as a foundation for the operations and maintenance of the building. At the CSC, you can pick up packages, put in a work order during the day, and lockouts during the day. Be sure to read over the signs during the holidays as the hours for the CSC will change. Phone number: (213) 740-8585. ○ COVID Hotline → The COVID hotline is useful if you have COVID and need resources. They can assist with testing, providing a place to quarantine, and assist you with any questions you might have about the illness. The phone number is: (213) 740-6291. ○ Roommate Agreements → Arguably one of the most important documents that you will see during your time as a USC housing resident. The RA (me!!) will facilitate this document in the coming week or so. This document will assist with maintaining a clear understanding of the preferences of your apartment as a whole regarding things such as cleanliness, noise levels, as well as other important matters. Note: this document is fluid and can be altered throughout the year if anything needs to be changed. ○ Emergency Exits/Earthquake Safety → Please take time to familiarize yourself with ALL of the emergency exits in the building, as you never know where you’ll exactly be should you need to use an exit. For earthquakes, please remember the duck, cover, and hold method and also do not run in or out of the building. In the event of a fire, your RA will assist with evacuation. ★ Common Policies: ○ Alcohol → You cannot drink if you are under 21, nor can you be in the physical presence of alcohol (even if no one is drinking). You also cannot have any alcohol containers as a decoration and being under the influence in public spaces is prohibited. ○ Drugs/Cannabis → All drugs including cannabis are prohibited at all times and you cannot possess or use them. Cannabis medical cards are not recognized, and you cannot possess any paraphernalia as well. You also cannot be under the influence or be in the presence of any drugs/cannabis. ○ Guests → Your roommates must approve any overnight guests, and these guests cannot stay for more than three (3) consecutive nights twice a month (basically 3 days in a row one week and three (3) days in a row the next week is prohibited). You can also only have two (2) overnight guests at one time as well as in the hallways, and only four (4) guests in your apartment space. You are responsible for the conduct of your guests and individuals from other residential buildings are still considered guests. ○ Quiet Hours → 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM Sunday-Thursday & Midnight - 8:00 AM Friday and Saturday. Excessive noise is also prohibited at all times (24 hour courtesy hours). Also please be cognizant of the fact that anyone can request that you reduce your noise level at any time.
