Name: Palesa Moshodi Student No: 2016206456 Teaching Philosophy Reflection When students leave my class I want them to be able to implement whatever they have learnt in class to their real life situation and have the skill of problem solving. I want them to be able to think critically while they are also being creative. Since I will be a Creative Arts teacher, I will encourage my learners to be creative not only in my subject but with other subjects as well. For example, leaners may create a song about the five stages of continental drift learnt in Life Sciences. They can do this so they can be able to remember. Successful teaching to me means at the end of the leaners have an understanding of the content and how they can be able to apply the information they learn in school to their daily lives I will allow the learners to express themselves, grow and learn from each other within appropriate boundaries. During the lesson, I will stop and allow leaners to give out their thought, examples or ask a quick quiz. While also considering different learning and teaching styles. I will use visuals (graphs, paintings, drawings) to demonstrate or explain content. Also I will allow the leaners to be involved, be it physically or verbally during the lesson. I also consider the scaffolding method for teaching to be useful, because it enable learners to learn while they think for themselves with little assistant from the teacher.
