CAREER OBJECTIVE
To be an adept lawyer, advocate, human rights expert, contribute to knowledge development
through research & dissemination, build capacities of people and communities to overcome
poverty and human underdevelopment in Kenya, the East Africa regional bloc, the continent and
the globe.
PERSON PROFILE
I am a well-trained and experienced lawyer, researcher, and human rights advocate. As a
researcher, my work covers law, governance, human rights, land and natural resources rights,
advocacy, and policy formulation.
I have graduated with LLM in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA 2015) at
the Centre for Human Rights (CHR), University of Pretoria.
In the past, I have also pursued Post-Graduate Diploma in Law (Advocates Training Programme
– ATP, 2014) at the Kenya School of Law and successfully completed thereafter admitted to the
Roll of Advocates.
I hold high-level training in Law, including the Legal System of East Africa, Land and Natural
Resources Law, and Human Rights Law among many other fields.
I am also a trained Programme Planning Manager able to employ rights-based approaches to
programming. I also have competence in Organisational Leadership courtesy of my current
professional position. Also, I have recently developed competence in the area of Large-Scale Land
Acquisitions for mega projects such as extractives and agriculture due to the human rights
violations meted on the vulnerable groups and communities and transparency issues around the
process of land acquisition.

1. Research using various methodologies
• I am a well-endowed law and governance researcher with pure and applied research
skills, ability to extract and interpret data in its primary and secondary form and design
data collection instruments.
2. Programme Management, Grant making & Fundraising
• I have a combination of both academic and practical experience gained by completion of
attained academic qualifications. I am also able to implement a variety of projects in areas
of governance, advocacy, and protection of human rights as well as transformative justice.
In addition, I have grant making and proposal development skills gained from day-to-day
interactions with donors.

• I am skilled to impart knowledge, well versed with adult learning methods that employ
action learning and participatory learning approaches to training and able to articulate
and put together information and pass on to learners in a manner that is significant,
empowering and innovative using a learner-centred approach.

communication tools such as internet, having learnt the skills through thorough
apprenticeship.
