The Past Perfect Tense indicates that an action was completed (finished or "perfected")
at some point in the past before something else happened. To form the past perfect
tense, you use the past tense of the verb "to have" which is “had”, and add it to the past
participle of the main verb. (which can be either regular or irregular in form): For
example: subject + had + past participle = past perfect tense.
Examples:
I found my wallet after I had reported it to the lost and found committee.
She had enjoyed the trip by the time she entered High School.

The Perfect Tree
By: Anonymous
On Saturday, the Jenson family shopped for a Christmas tree. They got
in the car and drove to the tree farm. Mr. and Mrs. Jenson walked around the
tree farm with their kids.
The family looked at all the trees. They looked at tall trees and short
trees. They looked at fat trees and skinny trees. They looked at every tree on
the farm. They wanted the perfect tree.
The Jenson kids finally found the perfect tree. It wasn’t too tall or too
short. It wasn’t too fat or skinny. The tree was exactly what they wanted. It was
the perfect Christmas tree!
