EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Inspection of m/t “CONTSHIP TEMPLATE” was carried out on 9-10 April 2017 at Durban, whilst alongside discharging a containers. The operation was taking place using shore cranes and the ship cargo gear were not in use. The Class survey position is good, with next Special Survey due in Feb 2022 and Intermediate Survey in Aug 2019. Last Special Survey & Dry-dock was done in Amsterdam in January 2017. The vessel is in good condition, she has recently come out of dock, June 2013 where she underwent her second special survey. There are no signs of fatigue related cracking, normal wear and tear evident to the hull coating system. The main deck condition showed average signs of corrosion, some small cosmetic issues with the deck coating, but consistent with the age of the vessel. The current crew are in the process of repainting the deck. Some heavy corrosion was noted on the main block erection welded joint in #3 port upper wing ballast tank, this is fairly normal around these joints but if left unattended could lead to larger issues in the future. This really needs to be addressed now before the condition deteriorates further. In conclusion, the condition as well as the appearance of the ship is satisfactory considering its age though there is a scope for continuous improvement. Ship’s staff has been briefed to put in best efforts to improve the condition further and run the ship in a safe and economical manner in conjunction with the shore staff. 3|Page OF-TE-001(A) Edition No.1, Rev No:0, 01-Aug-2018 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY REPORT INSPECTION OF M.V.CEZANNE 5. CONCLUSION: Vessel current condition has improved from previous visits. To meet the company standards, vessel crew are putting their best efforts and keeping a good communication with the office. Additional fitter assistance is much appreciated by Ship staff. Since there are many other important tasks are still pending mainly on deck, ship staff were advised to utilize the man power and prioritize the work as per the importance and class /PSC requirements. It is very important to be proactive and transparent in communication in this vessel. With the office assistance, if vessel staff put their best effort, the condition of deck will be improved in fast and phased manner. Overall condition of Engine Room and Accommodation noted to be in satisfactory condition but still there is scope for improvement. In general, the condition as well as the appearance of the ship is satisfactory considering its age though there is a scope for continuous improvement. Ship’s staff has been briefed to put in best efforts to improve the condition further and run the ship in a safe and economical manner in conjunction with the shore staff.
