Skill-related components of physical fitness are more
on the skill performance, activities in this component
is focused on improving the skill of a person which is
why it is commonly used during training programs of
a certain sport. A skill is in every individual that is why
it is easily improved during training and performance
1. AGILITY is the ability to rapidly and accurately change the
direction of the movement of the entire body in space with
speed and accuracy.
ASSESSMENT: typically measured by using a shuttle zigzag run.
2. BALANCE is the maintenance of EQUILIBRIUM while
stationary or moving.

posture after changing body positions. Balance is generally considered
as two types: STATIC and DYNAMIC.

3. COORDINATION relates to the ability of the person to use
the senses, such as sight and hearing, together with body
parts in performing motor tasks smoothly and accurately.
ASSESSMENT: typically assessed using measures of HAND-EYE
or FOOT-EYE coordination such as juggling, dribbling a ball or
hitting an object.
4. REACTION TIME is the ability to reach or respond quickly to
what you hear, see, or feel. It relates to the time elapsed
between stimulation and the beginning of the reaction to it.
ASSESSMENT: STICK DROP TEST
5. SPEED is the ability of a person to execute motor
movements with high speed in the shortest period of time.
It is equal to the distance covered per unit of time.
Is the ability to move your body or parts of your body swiftly.
ASSESSMENT: 40 yard dash is often used to measure speed.
6. POWER is considered to be a COMBINATION OF STRENGTH
AND SPEED. It is also defined as the ability to exert muscle
force quickly. It is the ability of muscle to release maximum
force in the shortest period of time.
(STRENGHT+SPEED= POWER)
ASSESSMENT: SHOT PUT and VERTICAL JUMP.


