Day Where are you? What was the interaction, and with whom? How did the interaction influence you? Monday Shopping in the I came across a fantastic clerk with whom I talked about the mall book I wrote. We shared the same interests in foreign studies. Tuesday Chapters bookstore After walking through the doors, I saw an author signing. I walked up and met a fantastic older woman. She was a local author like myself. After talking for a while, she invited me to have tea with her group, and we discussed my future books. Wednesday Walking my dog at the park I have a German Shepard that I have trained to understand German commands and do military stunts. So when I teach him at the park, he gets attention. I met a guy there who took his kids to the playground nearby, and we talked about how I train my dog, Koda. Thursday Drove to Vancouver I had a fabulous time in the car with some family friends. We did some trivia and karaoke. We were on our way to Vancouver to volunteer for a rock and gem show. On Friday Arriving to Vancouver I interacted with the other volunteers and chatted about the beautiful stones on display. My unit and I were part of the security group to watch for theft. The rocks were on open display, so it would have been easy for shoplifters to take the expensive items. When rush hour rolled in, we were constantly asked questions by the shoppers, most of whom were very pleasant to talk with. Saturday Still in Vacouver I met a very kind woman who was part of the admissions team. She and her friend were the sweetest people I could ever meet. I had some coffee with them during my break, and we talked about all sorts of things, including my book. Sunday Hotel in Vancouver I like waking up at 6 am every morning. I developed a habit over time because I'm a very light sleeper. But anyway, Not wanting to wake anyone up, I left the room to do some research for the new book I was writing. And I failed to mention this in my previous logs, but this older lady, Kat, was head of the hotel coffee lounge, and she, without fail, always saved the same spot for me every morning. Considering I was the only person that early, she would strike up the most interesting conversations with me and would talk until it was opening time. The first time I came to the Hotel was a few months before this most recent visit. I met Kat then, and even though she was, I think at least 60, I loved my early morning coffee with her. These interactions I've had over the week were some I know ill carry with me for a long time. The Vancouver logs were my favorite. I got to meet so many interesting individuals throughout that weekend. It was a positive experience and helped me develop my people skills, considering how many customers I helped. By acting as security, I understood how to handle certain situations, think them through, and make accurate decisions. It also helped my view on my career. I want to become an analyst for foreign law, and during my time, I was able to study human behavior. The logs during the weekdays were also remarkable because i created unique interactions with the most incredible, intelligent people. I am fortunate to have had interactions with these individuals. These interactions have taught me that good people can be found everywhere and that we should get to know people before judging. However, protecting yourself from certain people is also imperative. I will never be naive because these are just people, and in the end, you must know a person very well before taking the next step and fully trusting them.
