 The management of systems or processes that produce goods and/or
provide services is known as operations management. It entails planning,
organizing, coordinating, and controlling all of the resources required to
produce a company's goods and services. Operations management is
critical in a business because it aids in the effective management, control,
and supervision of goods, services, and people. Operations management
is very important in organizations because it produces professional
managers who are capable of achieving the organization's strategic goals
within a specific time frame. It is the heart of any organization because it
controls the entire operation system. For an organization to manage its
activities, operations management is essential. An organization can make
better use of its resources with the help of operations management. It also
assists an organization in achieving its primary goal of profit and
shareholder maximization through its activities. Operations management
also contributes to increased overall productivity. As a result of the
discipline's emphasis on making the best use of available resources to
achieve end goals, overall productivity is increased.
