YOUR REFLECTIONS
Indigenous Peoples (IP) are distinct social and cultural groups that share collective ancestral ties to the lands
and natural resources where they live, occupy or from which they have been displaced. Their cultural identity,
spiritual practices and governance systems are also tied to their traditional knowledge and relationship with the
ecosystems they inhabit. Yet education systems in developing countries are frequently unwilling or unable to
offer programs that respect indigenous peoples' diverse cultures.
Based on the given activity, the exam to given to the students are fair for all the students regardless of the
group they belong. They have a set of choices on which is applicable to them. This type of activity shows fairness
for all the students. The fairness of an exam can make the difference between students getting the grade they
deserve and a grade that does not reflect their knowledge and skills. Fairness makes good instructional sense.
Fair testing encourages students to spend more effort on learning because they will come to see that success
depends only on what they know and can do.
