DANCE THEORY AND LITERACY Revise Skills from lesson 1-6.
See and follow the guided learner activities as set in the
learner column below.
Adjust music/activities to suit your classroom environment.
How to prepare for today’s lesson:
Activity 1: The warm up games can be done in groups of 2 – 4. These are really fun
activities for the whole family to participate in. When placing chairs in a circle,
make sure it is 1.5 m apart for social distancing purposes. You can use the warm up
music in the digital resources’ column, or any other appropriate music.
Activity 2: First allow your child to practise the dance sequence, so that they can
familiarise themselves with the order of movements. Then allow them to dance
the whole sequence with music as indicated in the digital resource’s column.
Your child can also follow the guided video that is available in the digital
resource column.
Activity 3: Please engage, support, guide and motivate your child during this lesson.
Reflect on your child’s performance by completing the reflection rubric
together. Discuss your observations with your child. Be honest, sensitive and
allow them to critically analyse their own performance. Please make sure that
your child keeps this lesson plan and activities for revision purposes.
