Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts, uses and importance of statistics, data collection/gathering and the different forms of data representation, measures of central tendency, measures of variability, and probability. B. Performance Standards The learner is able to collect and organize data systematically and compute accurately measures of central tendency and variability and apply these appropriately in data analysis and interpretation in different fields. C. Learning Competencies (Write LC Code for each) The learner calculates the measures of central tendency of ungrouped data (M7SP-IVf-g-1) D. Learning Objectives (Affective, Cognitive & Psychomotor) At the end of this lesson, students must have 1. defined mean, median and mode of ungrouped data 2. calculated the mean, median and mode of ungrouped data 3. appreciated the significance of the mean, median and mode of ungrouped data in the different field of business, science, education, etc. II. CONTENT STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY A. Topic Calculating the Measures of Central TENDENCY OF UNGROUPED DATA B. Target Audience Grade 7 students C. Technology Used 1. by students computer unit/laptop/cellphone calculator 2. by teacher computer unit/laptop/mentimeter/zoom internet connection powerpoint presentation camera, microphone, speaker video editor, calculator D. Pedagogies How are technology, content and pedagogical knowledge working together in this lesson? 21st Century Skills: The skills include critical thinking/reasoning, problem solving, metacognition, collaboration, and communication; ICT skills TPACK ACTIVITIES: This lesson plan will be carried out in an online setting. The students are assumed to have their personal gadget and internet connection in order to attend this class. The mind-Setting activity will be done using Mentimeter. The lesson will be conducted in Zoom and will utilize Zoom’s extension such as reaction, chatbox, and poll. The lecture will be carried out using powerpoint presentation. E. Learning Resources Learning Activity Sheets Quarter 4 MELC 7 Khan Academy Activity Sheets Dynamic Math pp 188-190 Advance Algebra by Jose-Dilao, et. al. pp H. Prerequisite Knowledge 1. Rules in Rounding-off 2. Understanding Division concept I. Prerequisite Skills 1. Rounding-off Decimals 2. Using of scientific calculator 3. Performing the basic operations III. Procedure A. Daily Routine (Prayer/ Checking of Attendance/Mood) Opening Prayer (video-ready). Checking of attendance will not be done in the classroom anymore; zoom will generate the attendance. Priming (Drill/Review/Motivation Whatever is applicable) The students will be asked to open menti.com and use the password 1896 9277. On the page, they will write the word/s they learned from yesterday’s lesson. After this has been done, the teacher will take a screenshot of the page and will post it in the google classroom. Students will be encouraged to make comments by choosing a word and defining it based on their understanding. This will be done during the free time of the students. A short drill on rounding-off will follow. Three numbers will be given. The student will round-off the number according to the specified place value and submit the answer directly to the teacher using the chat box. The first 15 to give the correct answer will receive an incentive from the teacher. The numbers are: (1) 0.423638 round-off to the nearest tenths (2) 34.54692 round-off to the nearest hundredths (3) 593.599999 round-off to the nearest thousandths The teacher must do the countdown (10 to 1) to prompt the students to answer right away. B. Activity A. The students will solve for the average of 10 scores manually or using their calculator. They will submit their answers by answering a poll which will be launch through zoom. B. Arrange the array of numbers in ascending order. Locate the middlemost number. C. Watch a dramatization of a sample problem, and answer the questions which follow. C. Analysis A. 1. What is the average? 1.1 There are a number of students who voted for 58. Why did you choose this answer? 1.2 Is 58 an acceptable answer at this time? Why or why not? 2. What is the formula in solving for the mean of ungrouped data? B. 1. When we arrange the scores or data in ascending order, what is the value of the first number in the arrangement? 2. What is the middlemost number in the array of scores? 3. How many scores are there at the left of the middlemost number? What about at the right of the middlemost number? 4. What does the middlemost number do to the array of scores? 5. How do we solve for the middlemost score when the array of data is odd? 5. After we have arranged 8 scores or data in ascending order, what is the middlemost score in the array? 6. Since there is no middlemost score yet, what should be done with the two scores at the left and right of the intended middlemost score? 7. How do we solve for the middlemost score if the number of data in the array is even? C. 1. Which size was mostly bought? 2. What data did the boss asked from his employees? 3. If you are the boss, and you received this report, what will you do to better the result of your business? 4. How do we determine the mode of a particular data set? D. Abstraction 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
