4. Assigned task
Based on the assigned project we were required to interview in a company to analyze what leadership
pattern they are following and how the higher management engages with their employees.
So we choosed Makeen Marketing (PVT) Limited
The questions asked during an interview are listed below along the answers quoted by the Organization’s
Higher Management.
5. Questionnare:
Q1: Do you feel leadership is important in your organization if yes, why?
ANS: "Effective leadership can build a vision and motivate people to make it a reality," Taillard
says "A good leader can inspire everyone in a firm to give it their all." Organizational leadership
communicates the mission and vision, develops the strategic plan, and motivates employees to
use their abilities to achieve the strategic plan's goals and, ultimately, the leader's vision.
10- Do you believe your staff are satisfied with the way you lead?
Ans: I'm afraid I can't remark on that because I'm not sure what image I've been projecting with
my behaviours. But I can say that if my people are satisfied and their work is up to par, I believe
I am doing a good job. I don't treat my people like workers. They are like family to me, and they
have helped me maintain a positive attitude in the workplace. So, sure, I believe the answer is
yes.
Q: How do you go about hiring and training people?
During interviews, I try to figure out what abilities a person possesses .how He can make an
addition to my office . As you can see, each person has unique powers and skills. One could be a
natural leader. Others may be skilled at selling. I assign them depending on their particular
preferences and interests. This improves their efficiency and i too get higher returns
Q: How do you keep your office employees motivated?
Answer: Everyone gets bored if they have to do the same tasks over and over. They start lacking
in motivation. Their will to work declines. Through daily session I try to remind them that they
need to work hard in order to achieve more in life. Direct engagement helps me do that.
Q2: What type of interpersonal managerial, informational, and decisional roles your
leader is playing at your workplace?
ANS: The relationships that a manager must have with others are covered by interpersonal roles.
Figurehead, leader, and liaison are the three roles within this group. Due to their official power
and symbolic role as representatives of their organizations, managers must function as
figureheads.
Q5: Is locus of control important to leaders? Why?
ANS: People who have a strong internal locus of control are more successful in both personal
and professional situations, with better health, relationships, and jobs. They make stronger
leaders and are better at dealing with change than those who have an external locus of control.
Q19: Why doesn’t criticism work?
ANS: It's something we've all experienced. During your performance review, your supervisor
gives you some unexpected unfavorable remarks. Or a coworker gives you a scathing assessment
of a presentation you've been working on for months. Here are five constructive responses to
criticism.
1) Be Open.
2) Consider your body Language.
3) Ask clarifying question.
4) Schedule a follow-up.
5) Share the feedback.
Q22: Should a supportive working relationship be a true friendship?
ANS: People who have a "best buddy at work" are seven times more likely to be engaged
in their profession, not simply because they are happier and healthier. Furthermore,
employees who say they have coworker pals have higher productivity, retention, and job
happiness than those who don't.
6 What are the three substitutes for leadership?
Ans: Leadership substitutes Subordinate, task, or organizational characteristics that make leaders
redundant or unnecessary Leadership neutralizers Subordinate, task, or organizational characteristics that
interfere with a leader’s actions Leaders don’t always matter Poor leadership is not the cause of every
organizational crisis.
8-Does upper management consult with employees before making decisions? If so, why do you
think that is?
Yes, that helps me realise what needs to be modified or done in a way that pleases both me and
my employees. Employees are, at the end of the day, the backbone of any organisation. I engage
with my employees on a daily basis to gain an update on what they're being up to and to discuss
what short-term strategies we should be using to accomplish our monthly targets. Their diverse
perspectives enable me in implementing the most efficient strategies. This has been highly
beneficial to my business ’s bottom line.
Q: do you engage with your employees on daily basis?
When I get to my workplace, the first thing I do is do that. I work with them to ensure that they
are on the proper track in both their career and personal life. I provide them with instructions.
Direct engagement allows me to better identify where my team is missing and what areas need to
be improved. My staff have daily connection with me. This allows us to grow as a team and
achieve our goals. I usually try to inspire them by telling them about my own experiences.
9- : What are the tactics your leader is using from the nine influencing tactics?
ANS: The most successful influencing strategies were found to be inspirational appeal,
consultation, and rational appeal with inspirational appeal being the most effective of all three.
From the above answers that we have collected during an interview, we can analyze that this
company is using Transformational leadership style. To get the a better understanding the
definition of transformational leadership is listed below
6. Transformational Leadership:
The term "transformational leadership" refers to a leadership style that affects both individuals
and social systems. It promotes valuable and good change in followers in its ideal form, with the
eventual goal of growing followers into leaders.
Idealized influence, inspiring motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual concern are the
four elements of transformational leadership (sometimes known as the "four I's").
7. Conclusion:
According to the answers received, the company employs a transformational leadership style.
The company's CEO engages with his staff members and inspires them to grow professionally.
He creates opportunities depending on individual interests. He discusses his own journey such
that his employees can assume the benefits they can start receiving throughout life if they stay on
course and work hard like he did. Through daily sessions, he encourage workers. Employees
appear to be content working for a good leader. The high performance of their employees
testifies to all of this.
