What Element Am I? Task Cards
What’s Included?
24 Task Cards are included with questions about the elements, our building blocks
that make up everything! Questions are in a multiple choice format, and an answer
grid for recording answers is included. The questions focus on how elements are
used and what they makeup. A period table of elements is not needed to answer
the questions, but students might want to refer to one for clues referring to types of
elements. These cards can be printed, copied and cut-out along the guidelines.
Laminate the cards if you wish to use them again and again. Cards can be used in a
Scoot Activity, whole class for your Science lessons, or as an independent station
activity. A blank set for you or students to create their own cards is included along
with an answer key.
Task Card Activity Suggested use:
Set up students’ desk in stations with task cards spread around the room. Students
will move around the room with their Answer Grid and move from station to
station. They can work in pairs or do the activity on their own. When all students
are finished, discuss answers aloud. This activity is a fun way to assess or
supplement your Science or STEM lessons!
