About the School of Computational Sciences

Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for
Women, is a unit of Shri.S.S.Jain Educational Society
affiliated to the University of Madras. The college
has been established with a generous contribution
made by Smt. Sundarbai Shankarlal Charitable Trust
T.Nagar Chennai.
The college had commenced in the year 2005 and
has been Reaccredited by NAAC and it is an ISO
9001:2015 Certified Institution. The aim of the
college is to provide quality education to young
aspiring women candidates and to equip them to
meet the changing needs of the society and Industry.
The college provides the students with a congenial
atmosphere, conducive to their academic and
creative growth. It embodies and strives to deliver
world-class education and research in Science and
Humanities. The college offers 15 UG streams, 4 PG
streams and 2 Research streams and a Diploma
Stream(Jainology).
The Department of Computer Science was
established in the year 2005, with a strength of
40 students. The Department of Computer
Applications was initiated in the year 2006 with
all obligatory facilities. Abundant training is
given on software principles and practices to
help students excel in their profession. It
enables seamless integration and communication
between businesses anywhere in the world.
The department is well balanced with extra
&
co-curricular
activities
which
include
workshops, lectures, seminars, conferences,
symposia etc. organized by the faculty.
The
departmental association "SHASUN SRRISHTI" is
conducted every year to enhance students
executive skill to organize inter-collegiate
activities and technical events. The department
has a team of distinguished, dynamic and
dedicated staff members with specialization in
wider areas to provide teaching guidance,
inspire and motivate the students to excel in the
field of IT.
