CONTENT & STRUCTURE
METATAGS
Titles and descriptions of pages, and
file names of images and videos are
crucial for website SEO.
On Samsung.com:
- all pages have metatags
- the metatags follow a clear structure
- the main keywords are included
Examples of image & video file names:
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_design-video_low
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_colors_burgundy_front
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_colors_burgundy_side
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_processor
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_durability_water
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_night-portrait
galaxy-s22-ultra_highlights_high-resolution_4
INTERNAL LINKS
Internal links connect different pages within
a website. They shape the customer journey
and have an important impact on SEO.
On Samsung.com there are internal links
connecting products, suggesting products
comparison, or encouraging the visitors to
find out more. The links miss though the
descriptive link text.
Even if internal links exist on most pages,
there are not as many as one would expect
from an electronics manufacturer website
and most of them are hyperlinks redirecting
to specific Samsung products.
KEYWORDS
Identifying the relevant keywords might be
time consuming but it pays off, as including
the main keywords in the website helps its
SEO ranking and organic visits.
Samsung.com main keywords focus on its
flagship products and innovative
new technologies.
Smart living is the new trend and Samsung
is one of the big players in the lighting and
smart home market. In 2020, Samsung was
the third-largest vendor of smart home
devices in Europe (koreabizwire.com).

BLOG
A blog represents a great
opportunity to create new
content on a regular basis,
using the relevant keywords
and adding internal links to
the products.
Samsung has an entire area
called ”EXPLORE” with
several blogs on topics like
photography, life hacks,
how-to, events, brand,
entertainment, food & home.
IMAGE SIZE
Design is important, but even if
a website has wonderful images,
if they take too long to load the
website will lose its ranking and
also direct visitors.
Samsung.com has indeed low
size images, but overall it has
many images, dinamic content
and videos.
URLs
URLs make little difference to the
users, mainly because most of the
time the visitors just click on a link.
Nevertheless, URLs are important for
a good SEO.
Examples of image & video file names:
Samsung.com has well-structured
URLs, organised on categories and
subcategories, using the tree
diagram.

https://www.samsung.com/ro/offer/
The URLs include the main keywords
and the names of the products.

https://www.samsung.com/ro/explore/life-hacks/how-to-adapt-to-the-new-hybrid-work-world-andstay-sane/
MENU
Even if more and more
visitors use ”search” to find
the product they are looking
for, a well-designed menu
can make a big difference
in the overall user
experience on a website.
Samsung.com has an
intuitive menu, structured
in the tree diagram, just
like the URLs, including
the main keywords.
PERFORMANCE

SPEED
Speed is everything. And websites with
high loading times lose users.
According to a survey done by Littledata
(littledata.io) in February 2022, the
average time before full desktop page
load was 4.2 seconds.
•
•
•
•
under2.3 seconds – top-performing 10% sites
under 2.8 seconds – top-performing 20% sites
above 6.2 seconds– worst-performing 20% sites
above 7.9 seconds – worst-performing 10% sites
On average, pages take over 85% longer to fully
load on mobile vs desktop. Nevertheless, for
the user the fully loading time is less relevant
than the First Contentful Paint (FCP).
pagespeed.web.dev
The reports on Samsung.com
done by PageSpeed Insights
reveals very high loading times,
ranking the website in the
worst-performing ones.
SPEED
Samsung.com performance analysis from
Website Grader (website.grader.com)
clearly states the speed issues of the
website. The time Website Grader gives
for total loading of the mobile website is
even higher than the one from
PageSpeed Insights (35s vs. 28s).
Other performance issues detected are:
- page size – total size of website
- page requests – number of files on page
- multiple page redirects
- uncompressed javascript
MOBILE
FRIENDLY
In 2020, 68.1% of all website visits came from
mobile devices (perficient.com), making it clear
that any website needs to be responsive and
mobile friendly.
Samsung.com answers this brief perfectly,
Being responsive and easy to navigate on any
mobile device.
