Year 7 Design & Technology MODEL SUBMARINE PROJECT Name: _______________________________________ Project Introduction This 5 week project is intended to expand your designing and fabrication skills by making a wooden model submaine for a toy shop and creating an engineering portfolio to illustrate your understanding of the tools and methods needed for this task. While you are making a standard design, you will be experimenting with using templates and powered tools so that the model submaine will be made to a high standard and preferably using re-cycled timber to reinforce our environmental awareness. Ultimately your model will be painted in colours of your choice. Please consider this material carefully, paying close attention to what is expected and when the assessment is due. If you have any questions, feel free to ask your teacher.
