MANUSCRIPT SPEECH There was this movie that I’ve watched before, it’s about a girl who lacks freedom, the freedom to enjoy her life as a normal girl. The reason behind this is her condition that renders her dangerously sensitive to ultraviolet light, that even the slightest exposure to sunlight can be fatal. In our time now, there is no cure for this disease. You see this condition can be very similar to people who suffers from poverty. I mean think about it, how can a child enjoys his childhood if he can’t even have a single toy or eat delicious food? He can’t even be friends with other people because they always say that he doesn’t meet their standards. People today are becoming more and more racist and judgmental. The government spends lots of money on making bridges for vehicles but they can’t even make a bridge to get people out of poverty. If the government really cares for its country then they should also care for the health of the people in his country. There would be less criminals if only people have enough money to satisfy their basic needs. I believe that poverty is one of the main cause of crimes. A man would probably not resort to robbery if he can buy food for him and for his family. We ourselves can also help these people, we don’t need to donate huge amounts of money we can just simply give them something to eat that will ease them in their hunger. I believe that most of the people who is in this situation feels like there is no hope anymore. And for all the people who are blessed financially please don’t raise your standard at living instead raise your standard of giving. So let’s go back to the movie. Sadly, in the end the girl chooses to end her life because she knows that she will just suffer due to her sickness, she also thinks that she will just be a burden to her family if she continues to live. I hope this ending won’t be the same for the people in this country. I know that there is still hope to those people that are suffering now from poverty, as long as they won’t give up in living there will always be people who is willing to help them and I am certain that if we help these people there will always be a chance of survival for humanity.
