Enumerate and explain the six important reasons for the students in engaging sports. ANSWER: 1. Improves physical and mental health – one of the main benefits of engaging in sports is to boost the physical and mental health of a student. Sports is a good avenue for students to practice a healthy competitive environment which will ensures that the students will remain active and fit. 2. Empower students with life skills – sports does not only help students in terms of physical and mental aspects as a human being, it also develops the life skills of a student’s personality. This enhances their capacity or capabilities and helps them to have a better understanding of themselves. In addition, students learn to socialize and get along with other people. 3. Learn time management and discipline – engaging in sports also develop the constructive use of time and discipline as a sportsperson. If a student participate in sports, he/she needs to show the commitment of time to be in a particular place at a particular time every day as part of their routine. Being patient, disciplined which will help students, like me to cope with criticism and setbacks. 4. Improved leadership and team building qualities – in sports, it is all about teamwork. When a student join a sports this gives him the sense of identity and belonging to a group. As such, this helps them to identify and hone their leadership skills which add values to their personality. 5. Winning and losing is all part of the game – sports is not always about winning. It is about having a fair play and believing in equality and justice. Losing is part of the game and accepting defeat in a positive way distinguishes a true sportsmen which motivates him/her to strive harder and win the game the second time around. 6. Boost self-confidence – it is very evident that when in match of any sports, scoring for a particular game makes a student or the team happy but it also boost the confidence other students. 2. What are the reasons that sports and games are essential in students’ life? ANSWER: The reasons why sports and games are essential in students’ life are: 1. Promotes physical fitness for students and children it helps in proper grooming and growth of body. 2. Teach us the lesson of Team Spirit and unity. Students learn to play and work as a team which develops a sense of Team Spirit and building relations with others as well. 3. It helps a person to be mentally strong for a sportsman knows that Winning and losing is a part of sports, so maintaining a sportsmanship is the best way of mental strength and success. 4. ANSWER: The development of sports have greatly helped Filipinos in their daily lives amidst the pandemic. It also helps people to be more active while at their premises in order to avoid stress. 3. How does the COVID 19 affect the sports program of the Philippines? ANSWER: The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the conduct of sports in the Philippines affecting both competitive sports leagues and tournaments and recreational sports.
