When Oberon sees
Helena begging
Demetrius for his
love, he wants to
help Helena. He
sends Puck to use
a love potion on
Demetrius.
“A sweet Athenian lady is in

With a disdainful youth. Anoint
his eyes,
But do it when the next thing he
espies
May be the lady.” - 2.1.268-271
Puck
Puck, is Oberon's loyal
servant. Oberon
controls Puck so that
he can carry out his
desires.
Titania
Oberon’s strained relationship with his
wife, Titania, is what causes the whole
drama with everyone. As we find out
through listening to their argument,
Titania is in custody of an indian boy
who Oberon desperately wants to make his
servant. When she refuses, Oberon plans
to give her a love potion for her to fall
in love with a beast.
“Why should Titania cross her Oberon?
I do but beg a little changeling boy to
be my henchman.” - 2.1.121-124
Oberon, the strong-willed
king of the fairies
“Having on this juice,
I’ll watch Titania when she is asleep
And drop the liquor of it in her eyes.
The next thing then she, waking, looks upon…
She shall pursue it with the soul of love.

give Demetrius a love

After Oberon discusses his plan to help Demetrius and Helena’s relationship with Puck,
