SQUARE KNOT
Square Knot is often used to connect the ends of two ropes that are the same type and size/width
(diameter).
It is also often useful in Bandaging. It is used in bandaging because it is easy to separate or untie “Easy to
tie, easy to untie”. This is one of the reasons why it is used in bandaging.
CLOVE HITCH
Used in mountaineering for fixing a rope to a carabineer, securing yourself to an anchor, or multitude
other times when you need to secure a rope quickly.
The useful of clove hitch can grip anything, from round objects, to square objects, to rectangles, it can
wrap around pretty much any shape. Once it wraps, it creates this binding factor so that things won’t
slip out of it as well.
BOWLINE KNOT
The bowline is still commonly used for mooring boats, rock-climbing, and even emergency rescue
purposes when a harness is not available.
Bow line knot useful when pressure is applied to the knot, it gets tighter, but the loop remains the same
size, so there is no risk of the loop tightening and harming the victim. Because the knot tightens on
itself.
