Three Reasons to Build a Train of Chairs video Observer: RE Child's Name: E, pink t-shirt and dark grey legging Age of child: 5 years Setting: E have a free play with two children in their classroom Date: Feb 16, 2021. Time: 10:00 a.m. Context: E was building using chairs and fabric. She covered them with a fabric of quite a long length. The fabric got twisted when she placed it on another chair. It keeps falling on the chair, so he had to put it on top all over again. She said, "Tie this on Ms. Judi," while she was holding the ribbon. She wrapped it about both chair and fabric. She said, "I will be, I am tying this on all my might," "I am going hold them here." She kept unwarping and pulling the ribbon out so it got too long and got bunched up. "I will be tying this on," "talking about these, still won't make the building fall down, you don't wanna make the building fall down, but I wanna," she said to P. While she was trying to tie the ribbon, P came to her to make a bed under it, but she said to P, "no it is not ready yet." Because the fabric prevented a way to wrap the ribbon about both chair and fabric, she shifted the game from tying fabric to aligning the chairs into a train. She walked towards the other side of the classroom where P was playing, saying, "Hey how about making a train?" After aligning the chairs into a train, E took the ribbon to tie them together. Then, she covered them with a smooth and supple fabric, but it slid off the back of the chairs. "I need something to clip this on," she said. She explained to P why they needed the fabric over the chairs saying, "come on, we have to cover all them up, so the passenger won't get wet". After she reached the goal, she imagined being a driver saying, "I am the driver." She praised the work in progress and said, "this is the best train ever."
