of the athenahealth’s Coaching and Training services
come standard as part of your service fees, and we are
committed to providing your organization with a variety
of high-quality training services created and delivered
by athenaNet subject matter experts. Trainings span
from self-paced learning, providing an introductory
understanding of athenahealth’s services, to resources to
help build and maintain end user proficiency, to virtual
live sessions covering in-depth functionality, workflows,
and best practices. There are several training modalities
and knowledge topics to suit your needs and preferences

In this course, you learn how to find documents based on athena’s
document classification structure. On completing the course you
will understand how to label documents quickly and accurately,
review and plan document routing, and reassign documents.

for Controlled Substances (EPCS) — Part 1
Only authorized providers can use EPCS (Electronic Prescriptions
for Controlled Substances). In this course, get an overview of how
your practice can authorize DEA-registered providers to prescribe
controlled substances electronicallyusing the athenahealth
credential service provider (athenaCSP). Also learn what is
required to maintain that authorization.

In this course, you will learn how to process documents in HOLD
and UNPROCESSED status.On completing the course, you will

status. You will also learn how to move documents in HOLD status

you as remittance is received, occasionally you may need to take
manual action on a claim. In this course you will learn how to post

CLMS 110: Charge Entry
If you’re someone who deals with creating claims during checkout,
this course provides a thorough introduction to the workflow
from end to end, with expanded explanations on the most critical
fields. With three practice simulations included, you’ll quickly
get comfortable with how to enter and edit charges for efficient

CLMS 120: Common Claim
Troubleshooting
athenahealth helps you prevent and resolve many claim issues
that arise from payers through our rules engine. In this course you
will learn how to address some of the more common claim issues
of adding attachments to claims, resolving claim attachment
errors, adding a secondary payer Onsite traininger claim was
billed, and appealing a denied claim.

Enrollment Info
This course will teach you how to manage credentialing
information and enrollment related issues . If credentialing
information is incorrect or missing, and/or if enrollment issues
arise, receiving payment for services rendered from payers
will be difficult. Reviewing how to resolve these problems will help
ensure that there is no complications with receiving payments from
payers.

FMGT 120: Reconciling Deposit Batches
This course will teach you how to create, maintain, and upload Fee
and Allowable schedules into athenaNet. It is important to maintain
consistency in the way patients are billed and in
monitoring if payers are paying for procedures at the contracted
or allowed amount. Creating and managing fee and allowable
schedules are key components to a successful billing administration.
This course will teach you how to reconcile your deposit batches
on a daily and weekly basis. For this course we will focus on
reconciling deposits to assist with tracking time-of-service (TOS)
transactions. These steps will lead to an accurate and timely
month end reconciliation.

Signing patients up for the Patient Portal is a key way to improve
outcomes for your patients, increase payments, and save time.
This course provides a tour of the Patient Portal features so that
you can accurately explain portal benefits to patients and provide
support, if necessary. In addition, it describes how to register
a patient for the portal and provide access to a family member
or third party. Whether you are front desk staff, clinical staff,
billing staff, or a provider, you can play a role in increasing portal
adoption at your practice. For managers, there is an additional
lesson on enabling portal features.
In this course, you will learn how to check a patient in for their
appointment. Check-in is the first stage of the five stage patient

information across your providers into a single place. This shows
which programs providers are enrolled in and how they are
doing, by program.

monitoring for outreach.

This course will teach you what functions and tasks need to
be completed when submitting quality measures to enrolled
programs. This course provides detailed tables that outline
the level of support we provide to your practice for each
quality program. So, not only will you learn the functions and

understand the self-pay options available. This course provides an
overview of the application and management of Self-pay account
tools for front desk team members including how to apply payment
and pre-payment plans, sliding fee plans and how to run self-pay
monitoring worklists for patient outreach.
This course will introduce you to the Financial Summary Review
page within the Financial Controls Center (FCC). In this course,
we will focus on becoming familiar with the Financial Summary
Review page, along with the associated links within the page.

their job tasks. If you are responsible for creating and managing
user accounts, take this course to learn how to create new users,
assign roles to users, block or unblock users, reset passwords, and
run audit reports.

If you feel bogged down by the complexity of claims, this class will
ensure you have the knowledge necessary to confidently navigate
adjustments and transfers. This includes developing the skills to
adjust or transfer with a kickcode as well as perform a manual
