Every day we do some type of writing so come prepared to write! We work on daily journaling prompts, week-long essays, and longer 3-4 week writing units. Students practice writing a plan/outline, a rough draft, and a final draft. Plans and rough drafts will receive full credit if they are complete and turned in on time. Final drafts will be graded on improvement over rough drafts. Grades Homework & Late Work Middle School late work policy: Work that is 1 day late receives 75%. Work that is 2 or more days late receives 50%. All drafting will be written and shared on students’ Google accounts. Students can login at home or school. All final papers are submitted on Google Classroom. ixl.com is an online, adaptive grammar practice site. Students spend 10 minutes several days a week practicing different language arts skills on this site. Compose.com Compose.com is an online writing program that gives immediate feedback. Students submit rough drafts on Compose.com to receive help on grammar and spelling. Vocabulary Students practice vocabulary on vocabulary.com.
