Reflection Paper “An unexamined life is not worth living” by Socrates, it means that living a life where you live below the ordinance of someone else, in a constant system without scrutinizing what you actually want out of it is not worth existing. A person living like this is like a robot, lacking of will to take risks, lacking of free will and that’s what a robot is. From my point of view, I am more likely the dependent kind of person. Due to the fact that I depend too much on my parents, I don’t do things that they would not approve of, I at times let them decide for me, and based on this I can say that I am not living the life wherein I can be a person who can grow as an independent youngster. Furthermore, it is a person’s free will to act based on what is right. While rereading Socrates’ famous line again and again, I realized that it is actually not bad to experience all the fun and risky stuff out in the open, in this generation some people likes to be by themselves and not care about their surroundings, and living like this would not really mean that it is not worth living, it’s just that people enjoy things differently. As a matter of fact, life wouldn’t be worthless if we enjoy small things authorized by others or not, but even after all this, it is still the person’s choice on what to do.
