FactoryTalk® View
Ordering guide
FactoryTalk® View is a family of Human Machine Interface (HMI) products used to design, build and
run your operator interface applications. The FactoryTalk View family consists of: FactoryTalk® View
Site Edition (SE) Station, FactoryTalk® View SE Servers and Clients, FactoryTalk® ViewPoint Clients,
FactoryTalk® View Machine Edition (ME) Station, and FactoryTalk® View Studio. This ordering guide
will help you to determine which FactoryTalk View products are best suited to your needs.
Here are key considerations for you to keep in mind:
BEFORE YOU BEGIN

FactoryTalk View Studio is available in both Enterprise and Machine Edition versions. FactoryTalk View Studio Enterprise can
be used to develop either FactoryTalk View SE or ME applications. FactoryTalk View Studio for Machine Edition can be used
to develop only FactoryTalk View ME applications, that will run on either a PanelView™ Plus terminal or a PC with FactoryTalk
View ME Station.

We offer two FactoryTalk View SE server and client bundles:
• FactoryTalk View SE Server Unlimited displays with 10 FactoryTalk View SE Clients and one FactoryTalk ViewPoint Client.
• FactoryTalk View SE Server Unlimited displays with 25 FactoryTalk View SE Clients and one FactoryTalk ViewPoint Client.
All FactoryTalk View products can also be purchased separately.

Several of the FactoryTalk View products sold on our software portal offer volume pricing. The volume discount is applied
automatically to product in your Cart.
FactoryTalk View products offering volume pricing are: FactoryTalk View SE Client and Read-only Client, FactoryTalk
ViewPoint Client, FactoryTalk View SE Station, and FactoryTalk View ME Station.

Selecting the right product is an important decision. Your first step is to apply key considerations and determine which FactoryTalk View product family
is best for you.

FactoryTalk View SE Station offers options of

FactoryTalk View SE distributed systems will require a server
and some number of clients. Servers are offered with options
for 25, 100, 250, or Unlimited displays.
FactoryTalk View SE Clients are available in read/write
or read-only options.
FactoryTalk View ME Station offers options
of 15, 30, 75, 250, or 500 displays.
STEP 2
Assemble the system
For FactoryTalk View ME Station single workstation applications, order:
• FactoryTalk View Studio for Machine Edition design environment. If developing both FactoryTalk View ME and FactoryTalk
View SE applications, ordering FactoryTalk View Studio Enterprise is recommended.
• FactoryTalk View ME Station (15, 30, 75, 250, or 500 display).
For FactoryTalk View SE Station single workstation applications, order:
• FactoryTalk View Studio Enterprise design environment.
• FactoryTalk View SE Station (15, 25, 100, 250, or Unlimited display).
• FactoryTalk ViewPoint Clients if web-based connectivity is required.
For FactoryTalk View SE distributed applications, order:
• FactoryTalk View Studio Enterprise design environment.
• FactoryTalk View SE Server (25, 100, 250, or Unlimited display).
• FactoryTalk View SE Redundant Server for redundant applications. The redundant server should match the size (number of
displays) of the primary server.
• FactoryTalk View SE Clients (read/write and read-only options available).
• FactoryTalk ViewPoint Clients if web-based connectivity is required.
STEP 3
Subscription or Perpetual License? Your choice.
You must determine whether Subscription or Perpetual with Maintenance licensing works best for you.
With Subscription, you have the flexibility to purchase only what you need now and expand over time. Your upfront costs are
lower and maintenance (which includes both technical support and software updates) is included as part of the annual cost.
Perpetual with Maintenance has a higher upfront cost with a lower annual cost for maintenance. Learn more.
STEP 4
Build your cart
Once you’ve decided what you need, it’s time to build out your order. You complete the ordering process on our Software Portal.
From the main page, select a product family and make specific product selections to add to your cart. When completed, follow
the checkout process to complete your order.
Software Portal tips:
• For the FactoryTalk View SE Server/Client bundles, any FactoryTalk View SE Server, or FactoryTalk View Clients, select the
FactoryTalk View Distributed HMI product family.
• For FactoryTalk View SE Station or FactoryTalk View ME Station products, select the FactoryTalk View Single Station HMI
product family.
• Select the product, select the license type (Subscription or Perpetual with Maintenance), and select the support level desired
– then add the product to your Cart.
