Transmission and Distribution Cyber Security: Insider Threat and Cyber Future Trends 24th March 2022 14:00-16:00 (CET) Workshop coordinator(s): Ivan Dragnev, EPRI TIME (CET) 14:00 14:10 14:45 TOPIC PRESENTER(S) Welcome and Introduction Ivan Dragnev (EPRI) Cyber Assessments in the OT EPRI researchers offer quantitative and qualitative cyber security performance assessments that help utilities identify gaps and areas to improve overall or topical cyber security. EPRI’s qualitative assessments deliver objective and vendor-agnostic recommendations and referenced EPRI research results that can help utilities prioritize cyber security investments and mitigation plans. Insider Threat Insider security threats are considered one of the most critical threats facing companies today and into the future. Electric power utilities need a specific program to manage and mitigate these threats considering their unique requirements and needs within the operational domain. While many insider threat programs operate within the enterprise it is crucial for utilities to consider gaps present in the OT environment. Christine Hertzog (EPRI) Ben Sooter (EPRI) EPRI Cybersecurity 2030 Vision and Roadmap 15:15 The electricity sector is nearing an inflection point in the way it operates as we transition to a new energy system. We must revise our concepts of OT cyber security and its role to safeguard against future attacks that attempt to destroy or disable the grid infrastructure. Cyber security must transition into an essential embedded design of utility digital transformations and current operations Ivan Dragnev (EPRI) EU Network Code on Cybersecurity 15:30 16:00 The Network code on cyber security gives sector-specific rules for cyber security aspects of cross-border electricity flows, including rules on common minimum requirements, planning, monitoring, reporting, and crisis management. Once it enters into force it will override the NIS directive. Finalize and Adjourn Caoimhín Ó BRIAIN (Eurelectric) Ivan Dragnev (EPRI)
