I really thank and appreciate my parents for giving me a lot of time for completing my assessment even though I had home chores to complete. I also thank my assisting teacher Mr. Alford Ico who had given me guide lines and taught me some knowledge on how to go about in completing this SBA. Without all of these, my SBA wouldn’t have been completed. Introduction Association football more commonly known as football or soccer. It is a sport played between 2 sides of 11 players with spherical ball. When the ball goes out of play at either side of the pitch an opposing player from the sides which did not put the ball out of play can throw the ball back into play using their hands. Outfield players move the ball with any parts of the bodies except their hand or arms, whilst the ball is in play? Football is a family of team sports that involves to varying degree, kicking a ball. Later, leather coverings were introduced to allow the balls to keep their shape. The rules of association football were codified in England by the football Association in 1863. The name Association Football was coined to distinguish the game from the other forms of football played at the time, specifically rugby football. The game of football is both art and science that involves techniques of running, passing, kicking, tackling, blocking……etc. The contemporary history of the world’s favorite game spans more than 100 years. Why I choose the role of a FIRST AID OFFICER? I choose the role of a first aid officer because as a student, it will help me finding out more about a first aid officer and how to go about in performing this sport official in a real-life application. By choosing to be a first aid officer, it helps me to reflect on myself and how we react in some situations. First Aid knowledge is invaluable for you as an individual and for your community, so I therefore chose this because sometimes there’s no one there to help the players who get injured so I decided to be there to help them whenever injured might happen. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ROLE OF EVENT AS FIRST AID OFFICER First Aid Officer is responsible for the following: Responsible for maintaining a first aid kit and applying first aid when required. Liaises with relevant personnel to devise appropriate procedures in event serious injuries. Collates and distributes information related to care and prevention of sport injuries. Writes up report of accidents, detailing causes, injuries and suggested action for injury prevention. Identifies possible hazards or causes injuries and report them to the competition manager. History of football The game of football takes its form. The most admitted story tells that the game was developed in England in the 12th century. In this century, games that resembled football were played on meadows and roads in England. Beside the kicks, the games e also involved punches of the ball with the fist; on November 6, 1869, Rutgers and Princeton played what was billed as the first college football game. However, it was until the 1880’s that a great rugby plays from Yale, Walter vamp pioneered rules changes that slowly transferred into a new game of American Football. England invented a game of running around kicking a ball in the mid- 19th century (although the Chinese claim to play a version century earlier). They called it football, not because the ball is played on foot rather on horseback. The earliest historical is an anecdote from the 1878 book by Robert Brough-Smith.
