1. What makes marijuana a highly prohibited substance (even for the purpose
of medicine) in the Philippines? Explain.
Marijuana is a plant with scientific name Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica
plant specifically the dried leaves, flowers, stems and seeds. Marijuana is a
psychotropic narcotic with over 500 compounds, including THC, a mind-altering
component with negative health consequences. Annulment has been
institutionalized in the Philippines, yet divorce remains unacknowledged.
What makes divorce highly objectionable to the Filipinos as compared to an
annulment? Explain.
Religion has been playing its vital role that prevents the legalization of
divorce in the Philippines. Aside from Vatican, our country is the only state that still
do not recognize divorce.
