Thomas Joseph Cragg January 27, 2021 Professor Geter CRJU 302-555 My Introduction My name is Thomas Joseph Cragg. I am currently a sophomore at Bowie State University who lives in Bowie, Maryland studying Criminal Justice with a concentration of Social Justice and is also an Army ROTC cadet at the Bulldog Battalion on campus. I used to be a Computer Science major during my first year at Bowie State University, however I wanted to choose a degree that was more interesting and more in depth where I was more eager to be in due to the career paths that I want to do after college which is to become a law enforcement officer and be in the Army. The reason why I wanted to choose those two careers in particular is due to my role model, my father who is a retired Marine, a retired Prince’s George County Police Officer, and a current Deputy at the Prince’s George County Sheriff’s Office. He currently has an associate degree in criminal law, a bachelor’s degrees in law enforcement administration, a master’s in education, and currently pursuing his doctorate degree. My career vision is to just be like my father as I always look up to him and I was always interested in the military and law enforcement at a very young age due to him. I also currently work as a part time private security guard for a small security agency based in the Prince George’s County area and it has also gave me experience and knowledge that will help me when I apply for the police academy. I want to become a better individual and make my family proud of being the first one to go to college right after high school and be the first commission officer in my family. Therefore, I think that pursuing such professions of a career will provide me the opportunity to what I want to do in my life is to help the community I live in safe from harm and make it a better and safe place.
