INTRODUCTION

In previous chapters we concerned primarily with pits and
pieces of that makes up organization.First we analyze
organizational behaviour from the standpoint of
individual members ,how his or her learning ,personality
,perception ,attitudes and motivations effect the
organizations .Then we shifted our analyze to groups and
some of the process that accur in organization including
leadership ,communication and decision making.Shortly we
will discuss organizational structure in details also the
organizational environment and the diffferent strategies
that organizations use
BACKGROUND INFORMATION

For many years both researchers and practitioner
have been attempted to learn why some
organizations achieve higher level of perfomance
than others .empirical studies have suggested that a
success of organizations seldom depends upon a
single factor rather it largely stems from the ability
to reach and maintain a viable balance amoung a
combination of different factors. To address this
several studies have centered upon relationships
between different variable within organizational
contex and process .
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE


What is the structure of organization?
An organizational structure is a system that outlines
how how certain activities ar directed in order to
achieve the goals of an organization. These activities
can include roles and responsibilities.The
organizational structure also determine how
informations flows between the organizational
levels.
TYPES OF ORGANIZATIONAL
STRUCTURE .

FUNCTIONAL ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Is the most common structure this is also reffered to as
a bureaucratic organizational structure and breaks
up a company based on the specialization of its
workforce .Most of small to medium sized implement
a functional structure
CONT…..

Divisional structure : this type is common amoung
large companies with many business units .A
company that use this structure its leadership team
based on the products ,projects or subsidiaries they
operate .
CONT….

FLAT STRUCTURE : a newer structure is the third
type and its used amoung many startups as the
name alludes,it flattens the hierarchy and the chain
of command and gives its employee a lot of
autonomy .Companies that use that type of structure
have high speed of implementations
CONT….

Matrix structure : the fourth and the final
organizational structure ,its also the most confusing
and least used. This structure matrixes employees
across different superiors ,division .
BENEFITS OF ORGANIZATION
STRUCTURE








Multiple business locations

ENVIRONMENT




What is the environment ?
Is the set of forces surrounding on the organization. And
that forces could be internal or external
An organization`s internal environment consists of
entities, conditions and events within the organization for
example employee`s behaviour ,the organization`s
culture and leadership styles .
External environment : are the outside events and
conditions surrounding to the company and influence its
activities .for example customers , suppliers ,competitors
,technology,economy and social /political factors .
COMPONENTS OF EXTERNAL
ENVIRONMENT


The general economy : organization that survive
through selling products or services often siffer from
economic downturn and profit from an upturn
.When a downturn accurs ,competition for remaining
customers increase ,and organizations might
postpone needed capital improvements.
Customers :all organizations have a potential
customers for their products and services .Successful
firms are generally highly sensitives to customer
reactions
CONT…..




Suppliers : Organizations are dependent on environment for
supplies.which include labour ,raw materials ,equipments .shortages can
cause severe difficulties.
Competitors : environmental competitors vie for resources that include
both customers and suppliers .successful companies devote considerable
energy to monotiring the activities of competitors .
Social /political factors : organizations cannot ignore the social and
political events around them .Changes in puplic attitudes toward ethnic
diversity ,the proper age for retirement ,the environment, corporate social
responsibilities or the proper role of big bussiness will soon affect them
.Frequently ,these attitudes find expression in law through the political
process .
Technology : the environment contains a variety of technologies that are
usefull for achieving organizational goals .Technology refers to ways of
doing things ,not simply to some form of mechinery .The ability to adopt
technology should enhance an organization`s effectiveness.

ENVIRONMENTAL UNCERTAINTY


In our earlier discussion of environmental components
we implied that environmnets have considerible
potential for causing confusion amoung managers
.Customers may come and go ,suppliers may turn god
to bad and competitors may make a suprising decisions
.the resulting uncertainty can be both challenging and
frustrating .ENVIRONMENTAL UNCERTAINTY : exists
when an environment is vague ,difficult to diagnose and
unpredictable .
Uncertainty depends on the environment`s complexity
(simple vs comlex ) and its rate of change (statics vs
dynamics )
AN ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY


STRATEGY :Can be defined as the process by
which top executives seek to cope with constraints
and opportunities posed by an organization`s
environment
Strategy formulation itself involves determining the
mission ,goals, and objectives of the organization
CHARACTERISTICS OF GOOD
ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY






Flexible :adoptable to change
Responsive : taking account of market ,economic
.and environmetal conditions
Creative : inspire commitments and ensure
organization
Challenging : it acts as source of inspiration and
motivation
Realistic : it can be seen to be achievable
Focused : clear defined and understanable
IMPORTANCE OF STRATEGY TO THE
ORGANIZATIONS




Strategy helps long term planning : while have to be prepared for
the short term tactics ,the main job of strategy is to prepare you for
3 to 5 years plan .
Strategy helps with the sustainibility and competitive advantages : it
literally tells you how to rank your competitors one by one and then
overtake them on your ladder to success
Strategy helps in collecting inputs : naturally ,when you wants to
forescast the future ,you have to collect a lot of input
Strategy helps in preparation for different market and products
:strategy can step in and play its role .strategy is important because
it will give you a guideline of the future targets
CONCLUSION

Finally we would conclude our topic ,as we primarily
discuss the connection between environment
,structure , and strategy and organization how they
affect the organization and basic concept of each
one . Also we take a look to different components
of environment,types of organizational
structure, importance of strategy to the organization
.We hope that you all understand the concept and
the importance of these variables .
