Taal Volcano records 3 eruptions, 8 quakes in 24 hour monitoring
In a 24-hour monitoring period, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)
reported three phreatomagmatic explosions and eight volcanic earthquakes at the Taal Volcano.
Pagasa said in an 8 a.m. broadcast. At 9:30 a.m., 9:33 a.m., and 9:46 a.m. on Tuesday,
phreatomagmatic blasts from the main crater were recorded. on the following Monday These
occurrences, according to the agency, produced plumes with a diameter of 400 to 800 meters that drifted
southwest.
Meanwhile, there was a five-minute volcanic tremor and seven low-frequency volcanic earthquakes
among the eight volcanic earthquakes.
On Saturday, the Taal Volcano was upgraded to Alert Level 3 after a series of short phreatomagmatic
bursts were observed, indicating the presence of a "magmatic intrusion" near the main crater "that may
further push subsequent eruptions."
DepEd craft Recovery plan to address learning gaps caused by COVID-19
The Department of Education (DepEd) declared on Tuesday that it is developing a "learning recovery
strategy" to overcome learning gaps caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, as some in-person sessions
begin in some places.
The recovery strategy is anchored in learning remediation and intervention, professional development,
health, safety, and wellbeing of teachers and students, according to DepEd Curriculum and Instruction
Assistant Secretary Alma Torio in the same statement.
Apart from that, Torio stated that the Department of Education will increase reading interventions, conduct
regular home visits and follow-ups, implement physical and virtual study groups or buddy systems,
establish literacy at home and in the community, hire parents or guardians as teacher-volunteers, and
develop appropriate assessment tasks and resources.
Over 1,000 families still in evacuation centers as Taal Volcano rumbles — PNP
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday that at least 1,228 families, or 4,143
people, are still taking refuge in evacuation shelters due to the Taal Volcano's Alert Level 3 status.
According to the PNP's Public Information Office, eight barangays in Batangas have been evacuated as
of Monday, including Agoncillo's Banyaga and Bilibinwang; Laurel's Buso-Buso, Gulod, and Bugaan East;
Balete's Palsara; Talisay's Quilling; and Cuenca's Don Juan.
According to the PNP, the majority of the evacuees are from Agoncillo and Laurel, which have nine and
eight evacuation facilities, respectively.
Over 100 police officers have been assigned by the PNP to help preserve peace and order in the region.

DFA repatriates 256 Filipinos from Macau, Thailand.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday that 256 abroad Filipinos from Macau and
Thailand had been returned to the Philippines.
The DFA stated in a statement that the extra 203 repatriates raised the total number of Filipinos returned
from Macau to 5,761 since the commencement of the COVID-19 epidemic in March 2020 through the 29
repatriation flights supported by the Philippine Consulate in Macau.
Three Filipinos who died in Macau from circumstances unconnected to COVID-19 were also repatriated
on the trip.
Until the Macau government certifies it safe to restart international commercial flights, comparable flights
will be organized by the Philippine Consulate in Macau, according to the DFA.
"The returning overseas Filipinos were largely employed in Thailand's education and tourist industries
before the epidemic, and many were having difficulty sustaining themselves while hunting for new job.
Infants, minors, and individuals with medical issues were among those repatriated, according to the DFA.
Since the embassy's first repatriation flight in April 2020, 808 Thais have been repatriated.
OWWA says no COVID-positive Filipino reported in Shanghai, China
In the midst of a coronavirus outbreak in Shanghai, China, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration
(OWWA) reported on Tuesday that it has not received any reports of Filipinos testing positive for COVID19.
According to them There was a spike since several asymptomatic cases were discovered on March 12th,
prompting lockdowns and the Shanghai government's decision to do contact tracing and mass testing in
order to uncover positive cases.
As of yet, they haven't gotten any reports of Filipinos testing positive, but if there are any, the local
government would treat them for free.
The OWWA, according to Cacdac, is "working hand in hand" with Philippine authorities in China to protect
the safety of Filipinos in Shanghai.

Adamson's 10 three-pointers powered an 82-66 victory over University of the East in the UAAP Season

Team in only 12 minutes.
The pros demonstrated their toughness and professional background in the third game after tying the
