Socialism- Socialism is a populist economic and political system based on public ownership
(also known as collective or common ownership) of the means of production.
Communism- Common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social
classes, money and the state.
Difference between socialism and communism- The main difference is that socialism is
compatible with democracy and liberty, whereas Communism involves creating an 'equal
society' through an authoritarian state, which denies basic liberties.
Democratic socialism- Democratic socialism is a political philosophy supporting political
democracy within a socially owned economy, with a particular emphasis on economic
democracy, workplace democracy and workers' self-management within a market socialist
economy or some form of a decentralised planned socialist economy.
Difference democratic socialism and socialism
Democratic socialism has a focus on democracy and authority alongside the socialist values.
