REVISION HISTORY ....................................................................................11 1. INTRODUCTION This document is the release notes for the HPC800, PNI800, PDP800, HAI/HAO805 Symphony Plus Control and IO products. This document provides a brief overview on Symphony Plus functionality. It enumerates known problems encountered in the final testing of this product release and identifies workarounds that help overcome the problem. The document contains additional notes that may be valuable to customers and service personnel working with the product. 1.1 Overview Symphony Plus is a completely new Control System based on field proven Harmony technology. PN800 Plant Network is redundant, 100 MB Ethernet running “Infi-Net over Ethernet” protocol o The PNI800 module allows S+ Operations and S+ Engineering tools to interface to the PN800 network HPC800 is DIN-Rail Controller / PCU consisting of 2 modules mounted in a common base (MB810) o HC800 Control Processor – Similar to the functionality provided by the Symphony system’s BRC controller. o CP800 Communications Processor – Similar to the functionality provided by the Symphony system’s NIS / NPM modules. PDP800 Profibus Interface for HPC800 o Supports S800 I/O, S+ Turbine Control & Protection modules, and Profibus PA using DPPA protocol adaptors HAI805 and HAO805 HART Analog I/O Modules. Figure 1 shows the PN800 network architecture. Figure 1 S+ Control & I/O Components INICI800 Release Notes 1.2 S+Control & I/O Module Descriptions All Symphony Plus modules are DIN-rail mounted devices and are powered using 24 VDC. See the user manuals for installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting procedures. The following sections provide a brief overview of each Symphony Plus product. 1.2.1 PNI800 Figure 2 PNI800 Module Mounted in the MB805 Base The PNI800 provides the hardened, industrial PC Workstation to PN800 Plant Network interface, similar to the CIU for Infi-Net. The PNI800 establishes and maintains the XR database for HMI console applications and the Communications Server function for Composer. Similar to IET800, PNI800 requires a software license, is configured using the “HsysConfig“ utility that is embedded within Composer, S+ Operations, 800xA for Harmony, etc. 1.2.2 HPC800 Controller Figure 3 Redundant HPC800 Controller The HPC800 employs a high performance MCF5475 ColdFire CPU processor with over 400 MIPS, 64 MB DDR2, 2 MB NVRAM, and 1MB Flash (firmware). Each module only consumes 5 W of power @ 24VDC. The HPC800 has expanded ModBus TCP interface capability over previous Symphony controllers such as the BRC400. The HPC800 supports up to 8 Servers, 128 Clients and 10,000 ModBus points. The HPC800 consists of the HC800 Control Processor, CP800, Communications Processor, and the MB810 Mounting Base. 1.2.3 PROFIBUS Master Module - PDP800 Figure 4 Redundant PDP800 Modules Mounted in the PTU810 Base The PDP800 Profibus DP Interface is a PROFIBUS Master. The PDP800 is based on the latest generation ColdFire 54418 CPU from Freescale (Motorola). The PDP800 has 128 MB DRAM, and 4 MB Flash Memory. The PDP800 supports Profibus DP – V0, V1, V2 directly on the module, and Profibus PA using DP to PA protocol adaptors (e.g. P+F Profibus PowerHub). The PDP800 provides both Master & Line Redundancy and supports baud rates from 9.6 kB to 12.0 MB. INICI800 Release Notes When communicating @ 12 MB, PDP800 can be configured to scan Profibus in as little as 2 msec. Turbine Control closed loop step response time of 25 msec has been demonstrated using the HPC800, PDP800 and the DIN-Rail TC modules. 1.2.4 HART Analog Input and Output Modules – HAI805 & HAO805 The HAI805 HART AI and HAO805 HART AO modules have been designed to provide the highest possible performance possible with current HART communications technology. Both modules have a dedicated HART modem on each of their 8 channels. This enables the modules to scan the each Input / Output channel for up to 4 “Secondary” variables in under 1 second. Thus, the secondary variables are can be used for control within the HPC800 controller. The HAI805 support both System & Field powered 4 – 20 mADC inputs, and HAO805 supports only System powered 4 – 20 mADC outputs. 1.3 Symphony and Symphony Plus Architecture Comparison The following diagram compares the Symphony architecture to the new Symphony Plus architecture. 2. RELATED DOCUMENTATION Following is a list of documents applicable to the system configuration of Symphony Plus software products: Product S+ Control: HPC800 S+ Control: PNI800 S+ Control: PDP800 S+ Control: HAI/HAO805 S+ Engineering: Composer Harmony S+ Engineering: Composer Harmony Document Title S+ Control: HPC800 User Manual S+ Control: PNI800 Harmony Plant Network (PN800) Interface User Manual S+ Control: PDP800 PROFIBUS Master Module Hardware and Operation User Manual S+ Control: HAI/HAO805 HART TM Analog Input/Output Modules User Manual S+ Engineering: Composer Harmony Function Code Application Manual S+ Engineering: Composer Harmony Primary Interface Manual Document ID 2VAA001586 2VAA001719 2VAA001446 2VAA001714 2VAA000844 2VAA000812 All related documents are provided in PDF format and most of them are included on the Symphony Plus DVD, the others are available for download from ABB’s Solutionsbank website. To access the documentation on the DVD, select the option “Browse DVD” from the Installation Manager menu, and navigate to the folder Documentation, containing one subfolder for each functional area. 3. COMPATIBILITY MATRIX These products are compatible with S+ Engineering: Composer Harmony version 6.0 and later. Composer Harmony Composer version 6.0 includes the Harmony System Configuration program that is used to configure the PNI800 module and its connection to the host computer. INICI800 Release Notes 4. KNOWN PROBLEMS The following problems have been identified in the Symphony Plus HC800, CP800, PDP800, HAI805 and HAO805 products. Product Issue All The S+ Control & IO modules do not support Sequence of Events (SOE) PDP800 Cannot connect to Profibus devices to set parameters or observe values from Composer Field. A running primary PDP800 may halt when a redundant PDP800 is inserted into the PTU810 mounting base. PDP800 PDP800 PDP800 The PDP800 modules lose communications with the CI840 modules and connected S800 I/O modules Redundant PDP800 module halted with MFT Workarounds, Clarifications, and Helpful Hints SOE is not supported in this release of Symphony Plus. Retry until connection is successful or use Composer Harmony to monitor PROFIBUS devices. Recover the halted module by pressing the STOP/RESET pushbutton once. To prevent the condition from occurring remove and insert modules directly into the mounting base, i.e. do not tilt the module at an angle. See the user manual for insertion and removal instructions. Restart the CI840 modules to recover communications with the CI840 and any connect S800 I/O modules Reset the PDP800 module PDP800 Redundant PDP800 module halted with an address/bus error (error 32). Reset the PDP800 module CP800, PNI800 Loss of I/P address and PNI800 license string may occurs during power cycling. 1. 2. HC800 The backup controller takes a long time to come online when the "Go Back" option is used during online configuration. Unable to download parameters to PDP800, HAI805, or HAO805 module. Reformat the backup module after performing a “Go Back” during online configuration. Retry download until successful. PDP800 may halt with an MFT when attempting to download a CLD containing FC222. May result in loss of PROFIBUS I/O subsystem Reset PDP800 module and attempt download again. PDP800, HAI805, HAO805 PDP800 Avoid power cycling Re-load I/P address and license string (PNI800 only) in to module. 5.
