P028024A Figure 1 1.1 Cabinet Overview Target Group The target groups for these instructions are the personnel involved in the site installation engineering process and those responsible for the installation, integration, and maintenance of RBS sites. 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 1 Cabinet Description 2 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 Product Overview 2 Product Overview This section contains a common product overview of the cabinet for the BBS 6101, PBC 6100 and SSC-02 2.1 Main Features The cabinet: • Is designed for outdoor use • Is IP 55/NEMA 3R shielded. • Can be equipped with different climate solutions. • Can be configured with different interior. See the following documents for a detailed overview of each cabinet type: • BBS 6101 Description, Reference [2]. • PBC 6100 Description, Reference [4]. • SSC-02 Description, Reference [5]. 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 3 Cabinet Description 4 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 Cabinet Overview 3 Cabinet Overview This section contains descriptions of parts common to the BBS 6101, PBC 6100 and SSC-02: • Cabinet • Doors • Connection Field (CF) • Optional Equipment. See the following documents for units specific for each cabinet type: • BBS 6101 Description, Reference [2]. • PBC 6100 Description, Reference [4]. • SSC-02 Description, Reference [5]. P028029A Figure 2 3.1 Cabinet with Door for BBS, PBC and SSC Cabinet The cabinet structure consists of an inner and an outer liner. The volume between the liners is filled with foam insulation. With this design there is virtually no heat-bridges in the climate insulation and thus giving the cabinet an excellent thermodynamic performance. The top of the cabinet is provided with four M8 threaded holes that are provided for the usage of lifting eye bolts. The roof of the cabinet is designed with a small overhang in the front to protect the top of the environmental seal from direct sunlight and water. 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 5 Cabinet Description 3.2 Doors The doors are of the same design concept as the cabinet when it comes to the thermal insulation with an inner and outer liner and insulation foam in between. It contains the climate systems and the climate controller. The cabinets are equipped with different doors depending on configuration of the specific cabinet. Table 1 Doors Door Cabinet CLU door BBU 6101 HEX door PBC 6100 Combo door SSC-02 At delivery the door is closed and locked. The opened door is locked in position with a door hatch. Figure 3 on page 6 shows the door hatch. P028025A Figure 3 Door Hatch At delivery the door is left hanging. It is possible to shift to right hanging door. See Installing Cabinet, Reference [3], for how to do. 3.2.1 CLU Door The CLU door is used for the BBU 6101. Cooling The CLU is an active climate system. 6 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 Cabinet Overview A fan is used to ensure air circulation inside the cabinet through the cold evaporator, the airflow for the outer part of the CLU (the condenser) is by natural convection. Heating When heating functionality is desired, the optional heater is mounted, utilizing the same air flow as is used for cooling. Table 2 3.2.2 CLU Characteristics Characteristics Value Inside temperature +10°C - +30°C Non-destructive outdoor temperature range: -40°C - +60°C HEX Door The HEX door is used for the PBC 6100. The HEX door is intended for a cabinet configuration with one climate zone that does not require active cooling. The HEX door uses a heat exchanger core to cool the internal air with the external air without having any air exchange between the internal and external air. With this solution it is possible to remove the estimated heat from the PBC compartment. Table 3 HEX Characteristics Characteristics Value Inside temperature +10°C - +55°C Non-destructive outdoor temperature range: -40°C - +60°C Voltage Supply Range -48 VDC 200 - 240 VAC 3.2.3 Combo Door The combo door is used for the SSC-02. The combo door is intended for a system with a dual climate zone where the upper climate zone is used for equipment with a greater span of allowed temperatures and therefore do not need an active cooling and the lower climate zone is used for batteries that requires active cooling. 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 7 Cabinet Description The lower part of this door has a climate unit of the same type as the CLU door described above. The upper part is equipped with a small HEX. Small HEX The small HEX is of the same type as the HEX door described above. The solution with the small HEX has the capacity to remove the estimated heat from the upper climate zone of the cabinet. Table 4 Combo Door Characteristics Characteristics Value Inside temperature +10°C - +55°C Non-destructive outdoor temperature range: -40°C - +60°C Voltage Supply Range -48 VDC 200 - 240 VAC 3.2.4 FFU Door Note: N/A for this product release. The functionality of the FFU is basically to reduce the excess heat created within the cabinet and the solar radiation by means of external air that is blown into the cabinet by fans. The air inlet is provided with a filter. The choice of filter component can be changed in the field. The climate controller compares the inner and outer temperature of the cabinet and when the inner temperature is colder than the outer temperature, louvers close and the air flow is shorted. This way no hot ambient air is transported into the cabinet making the battery compartment hotter than necessary With this solution it is possible to remove the estimated heat from the upper compartment of the cabinets. Table 5 FFU Characteristics Characteristics Value Inside temperature Δ max 5°C Non-destructive outdoor temperature range: Δ max 5°C Voltage Supply Range -48 VDC 200 - 240 VAC 8 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 Cabinet Overview 3.2.5 Locking System The doors are equipped with a locking system. As default, the locking system is factory installed at the right side of the door. It is possible to shift the locking installation to right hanging door. See Installing Cabinet, Reference [3], for how to do. 3.3 Connection Field The CF is located in the bottom of the cabinet. See Figure 4 on page 9. This part of the cabinet is included in the IP55 shielding but it is not included in the temperature control. In this area all the cables enter and terminate to their designated ground point, connector, OVP or otherwise. The CF area also contains an Interconnection Frame (ICF) for the SSC-02 and PBC 6100. See the following documents for further information about the ICF: • PBC 6100 Description, Reference [4]. • SSC-02 Description, Reference [5]. P028026A Figure 4 3.3.1 Connection Field Earth Grounding The cabinet is provided with two M8 earth studs in the front of the CF area, as shown in Figure 5 on page 10. The ground wire of the incoming AC feed (if any) is terminated in a green/yellow earth terminal that is securely connected to the cabinet ground. 7/1551-LZA 701 6009 Uen B 2010-04-30 9 Cabinet Description P028027A Figure 5 3.3.2 Earth Grounding Studs Cable Entries Cable inlets can be mounted on left or right side in the connection field and in the bottom of the cabinet. The cabinet is equipped with sealed openings on both sides and sealed openings for cable inlets in the bottom. Figure 6 on page 10 shows the sealed openings at the sides, and Figure 7 on page 11 shows the sealed openings in the bottom.
