Business events tend to be some of the events that are on a larger scale as for them to be successful many people
need to attend. This type of event can include things such as conferences and business meeting either with one or
multiple companies.
The business event that I am going to focus on is World of Work Day where many different companies from around
the county show up to advertise the different career options and paths they have available for the students after
they finish their education. The overall aim for this event was to have as a large amount of businesses in one venue
where the representatives from each business would be able to give career advice and advertise their businesses
career options. Some of the objectives for this type of event are to have a variety of business types to offer a
variation of information. Another objective could be to have a venue that was able to hold such a large event with
hundreds of attendees.
For any business event there will be constraints. One of the main constraints could be the budget as organising such
a large event with a variety of different businesses attending could cost a lot of money which the organisation may
not have. Another constraint could be the venue as they would have to have a large venue to hold all of the
attendees and as it took place in a rural area it is quite hard to find an appropriate and affordable venue. Another
constraint could be that some businesses were unable to attend on the day so the event was not on as large of a
scale as initially desired by the events organisers.
I do believe that the event met its targets as students were offered valuable advice from many different companies
from around the county. Even though not all of the businesses were able to attend the event was still on a large

EG for Sport…. My idea is to have a Rounders
evening for Y6 pupils….. then run through what you
would need to consider… eg get in touch with
partner primarys….organise an evening that suits
all….staffing issues, transport, food, parents
invited? etc You don’t have to come up with the
answers just raise points to consider.
