Question 1) How could we determine EF if no percentage is given?
EF stands for 'EXPOSURE FACTOR'..
1)EF Definition: The EF defines the percentage of loss for a particular asset if any threat is recognized.
2)It denotes a personal value that the person measuring risk need to define.
3) It is also defined or represented as an impact of risk over asset percentage lost.
4) Asset Value is to be compared to determine "EF" if the percentage is not given.
5)The asset value that is to be lost is to be computed.
6)The Exposure Factor(EF) and Assert value(AV) are related by the formula :
SLE = EF("Exposure Factor")*AV(AssertValue)
There fore Exposure Factor EF = SLE/AV.
7)Therefore based on asset value lost, the Exposure factor could be computed.
8) If the asset value is entirely lost, the Exposure factor is "1.0"
9) If the asset value is decreased by 2/3 the EF is "0.66".
Question 2: which method is easier to find SLE?
SLE stands for Single Loss Expectancy.

2) While coming to a better method to find SLE is by Cost per Incident.

3) Cost per incident is the loss that takes place from an attack.
4) Cost per Incident is calculated based on the total value of an asset and the percentage of loss that
occurs due to an attack.
5)Even though there are no particular sources that find the frequency of an attack. But there are some
threat assessments that owners of facilities can get. In the case of data, the organization gauges the
factors relying upon their internal information.
6) Cost for Incident cpi is calculated as the product of asset value(AV) and exposure factor(EF).
Cost per Incident = AV*EF
7)By using this method we can efficiently calculate SLE for the above data.
8) Here AV denotes asset values and also EF denotes the percentage of value loss through which we can
be easily calculate and we can easily determine SLE.

9) Therefore by cost per incident we can easily calculate SLE.
