Being one of the most extensive health complexes in the world, Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital brings a whole new cognizance
to health sector. With its mission of offering ethical and high quality health services in global standards, Memorial Bahcelievler
was brought to life with a contemporary approach to health services and its principle of respecting human and nature therefore
Memorial Bahcelievler was designed as one of the best examples of modern architecture.
In designing Memorial Bahcelievler every detail was thought of for the comfort of patients, companions and employees. Considering
that healing starts with the first step, all areas, from lobbies to outpatient clinics, waiting rooms to doctor and patient rooms, were
designed to serve best to the needs of the patients. As much as the patients, visitors were considered so that they can spend
comfortable time in the lounge areas which were designed in home spaces and located specifically. Every detail in each area was
designed bearing in mind that they can be a part of the healing process, from the color design to furniture forms, from lighting to
accessories that were chosen.
Being the 11th hospital project of Memorial Health Group, Memorial Bahcelievler serves to a total of 72 thousand square meters.
There also is a green area of 8 thousand square meters. Equipped with the most advanced diagnostic and treatment units,
the hospital holds the capacity of 320 beds, a total of 15 operating rooms, one of them being a hybrid operating room,
49 intensive care unit bed capacity, 135 outpatient clinics and 31 medical observation rooms.

Built with an environmentally conscious cognizance Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital’s inner and outer spaces were designed by taking
into consideration of green areas’ effects on human health and psychology. Live plants, providing a sense of each season and bringing
biorhythm and the circle of life to the hospital, reflect the feeling of being one with nature to all patients and visitors. The landscape,
being designed using non-allergic and natural greenery, adds an aesthetic allure to the architecture of the city. Memorial Bahcelievler
Hospital was built to be environmentally conscious from its energy efficiency to waste management, sustainable area planning to
inner space quality. This meticulous effort was awarded with a unique success. Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital has been awarded
the most prestigious green building “LEED” Platinum” certificate which is given only to the leading institutions regarding energy and
environment friendly design. Amongst the certificate programs of USGBC (United States Green Building Council) the certificate
ranked to be the highest was given to a full-fledged hospital for the first time in the World and that was Memorial Bahcelievler.
DAYLIGHT EFFECT IN EVERY CORNER OF THE HOSPITAL
Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital, aiming patient comfort, was built in a horizontal and butterfly design manner. To make maximum use
of daylight and ensure a view, the building designed in a butterfly manner holds 12 sides, thus ensuring controlled light intake from
every angle. Lighting of the building also adds a different appeal to its facade as well as its indoor. Horizontal form being preferred
over vertical forms make the transportation within the hospital more convenient as well as making sure the living area is comfortably
used.

KING SUITES
DESIGNED WITH THE COLORS

As big as three times the standard rooms the King Suites were designed to provide a living space for the visitors. Adjacent to the
patient room, there is a lounging room, a dining room and a kitchennette along with a companion room to accommodate companions.
These rooms were designed regarding the international patients coming for a treatment holding a larger visitor scale.
PATIENT ROOMS
SUITES
In Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital patient rooms were designed specifically for the comfort of patients and companions, in three
different setups. The rooms colors are in earthy and natural shades letting the warmth of wood stand out. The hospital, having 2 king
suites and 22 suites have a total bed capacity of 320.
Suites were designed as two rooms consisting of a patient room and a companion room. Contains two bathrooms. Whereas there is
a private door between the two rooms, from the outside they can be both entered via two separate doors. Thus the comfort of the
patient is emphasized.

STANDARD ROOMS
The standard rooms were designed to ensure patient and companion comfort as well as provide superior working conditions for the
doctors and nurses while making sure of the safety of both employees and the patients. The patient suites and standard rooms were
planned according to the same characteristics. The living area in the standard room, becoming a bed when opened and a three
person seating area while closed, was positioned for the companion. Also a desk was put for the companion to use during the stay.

PEDIATRICS ROOMS
The 16 pediatric patient rooms reserved for children were designed in the same manner as adult patient rooms, possessing the same
qualities. These rooms also were designed with the same ideals and concepts as the standard rooms. The difference here is the use
of warmer and vivid colors to accommodate children. The inner design of the room also serves children preferences with special
details.

Prenatal Diagnosis and Treatment Center
Latest diagnosis and treatment approaches are performed in high-risk pregnancies and baby growth deficiencies.
Urology Department
The robotic surgery technology that is used consists of a specialized system, cutting down the operation time and leaving the patient
aesthetically comfortable by having the invasive cut to a minimum size. With the robotic surgeries being successfully performed
regarding prostate, bladder and renal cancer; apart from kidney and bladder tumor operations, Robotic Perineal Prostatectomy
treatment, which is done via invasion through the upper rectal region and was designed for patients having gone under open
abdominal surgery who are in need of prostate cancer surgery, is only performed in Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital in Turkey.

Interventional Cardiology Department
Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) treatment, done on completely blocked arteries and also on veins with severe calcification plaques,
is performed via entering through the groin area without the need of anesthesia. Besides these distinctive procedures such as aortic
valve replacements and repairs (TAVI), persistent hypertension treatments, paravalvular leaks of the prosthetic valve or the sealing
of ventricular septal defects that are specifically designed for elderly patients and are being performed without the need of surgery.
Breast Health Center
From the moment the patient visits the center an appointment is arranged, clinical examination, lifetime risk assessment, required
mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI and examinations such biopsy is done in within the same day. In our center, apart from
specific breast imaging, personalized screening programs and latest treatments are being executed under the supervision of staff
who have focused on breast field and are leading doctors in their areas.
Oncology Center
The approach towards the diagnosis and treatment of cancer is personalized and determined by consultation. By gathering branches

Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital, encouraging women to give natural birth, offers a special concept called “Room birth” and aims to
ensure that mothers-to-be have their contractions in their rooms and in a cozy home environment until natural birth commences.
Tube Baby (IVF) Center
Personalized treatments are followed regarding advanced maternal age, severe male infertility, failed in vitro fertilization treatments
and recurrent miscarriages. With genetic diagnosis and identification methods that are being used the aim is to deliver healthy babies

MRI
With its 70 cm open bore which is larger than regular MRI devices, its short magnet length
and the capacity to carry up to 250 kg (550 lbs.), Magnetom Skyra 3T MRI, makes it possible to comfortably accommodate
claustrophobic or overweight patients. With Quiet Suite technology, complete, quiet exams are conducted for neurology
and orthopedics, with up to 97% reduction in sound pressure and a minimized need for sedation especially for pediatric patients.

COMPUTED TOMOGRAPGY (CT)
With the cutting edge technology’s dual energy Computed Tomography (CT) system that is being used in Turkey for the first time,
the imaging procedure only lasts seconds with less radiation dose given and a high quality visualization is achieved with less contrast
material. Since it has three times the examination speed compared to conventional Computed Tomography (CT) systems, Somatom
Drive does not compromise imaging quality due to patient movements, is suitable for patients with higher heart rate and for those
unable to hold their breath, thus conventionally reaching a successful diagnosis. With a gantry opening of 78 cm the system draws
attention to its special design concerning claustrophobic patients (patients with the fear of closed-in places).
CHILD-FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGIES
In MRI technology, regarding neurologic and orthopedic imaging, having a 97% reduction in sound pressure, the new CT technology
makes it possible to have imaging specifically designed for restlessness of pediatric patients and is able to perform the action without
the need for sedation.

MAMMOGRAPHY
Biograph mCT PET-CT system; with the PET and CT scans and its 78 cm wide gantry opening it provides physicians such as
radiotherapy planning the opportunity to diagnose in a wide area. With the spatial resolution the LSO crystal featured in the detectors
of Biograph mCT system, patients receive less radioactive dose and an early diagnosis of smaller lesions is made possible.
By virtue of the PRIME technology the cutting edge mammography device possesses, it enables imaging of breasts with 30% less
radiation dose administered to patients depending on breast thickness.
GAMMA CAMERA
Symbia Evo Excel SPECT system is a gamma camera system allowing general imaging procedures of SPECT (imaging technique
performed to evaluate regional cerebral perfusion), full body, thyroid, kidney and bones as well as cardiac SPECT (myocardial
perfusion scintigraphy thallium).

Used in radiology and operating room units, the mobile C-arm X-ray systems possess digital characteristics and enable high resolution
imaging with the use of lesser dose of radiation compared to conventional technology. By means of the mobile C-arm X-ray

Premium ultrasound systems offer premium applications such as Shear-wave Elastography and automated fusion imaging. Realtime shear wave elastography is an elastographic method used to evaluate the stiffness of a given tissue by measuring the speed
propagation of shear waves generated by ultrasound-pushes across.
With the PURE platform specifically designed for the system, imaging quality was increased thus enabling collection of more precise
diagnostic data as well as minimizing the dose of radiation received by doctors and patients. With the system’s automated filter (dose
management) technology minimal dose is administered to patients (especially pediatric patients) without the need to put in the data
of height, weight and such information while maintaining optimum image quality.
FLUOROSCOPY

Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital rises to prominence with its patient-centered care and consideration of companions. With a capacity
of 49 beds the intensive care unit was designed to consist of luminous, spacious patient rooms divided by glass separator systems.
Ensuring the mobility of motionless or unconscious patients, each room was equipped with patient lift technology for the first time in
Turkey. The application also existent in some of the inpatient floors ensures the easy motion of the patient in bed, enabling convenient
care in bed and making it possible for the patient to move around the room. Also the living areas around the intensive care waiting
rooms were specifically designed for patient relatives, making it convenient for relatives and doctors to consult in comfort.

All living spaces and rest areas in Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital were designed bearing in mind the comfort of patients and
companions.Living areas are located on the same floor as the patients going under treatment, allowing their companions to spend
comfortable, quality time. These sections include every detail from snack vending machines to seating plans to consult with the
treating doctors and even monitors to view imaging examination results. The hospital offers the option to practice religion via the
built-in mosque, chapel and synagogue. Apart from them the dining facilities within the complex fulfill the needs and tastes of each
individual. All these details were designed in accordance with Patient Experience Program highly valued by Memorial Health Group.
Memorial Bahcelievler catches the eye as the center where highest quality of hospitality is offered. All rooms were planned in
compliance with the patients feeling themselves peacefully at home and continuing their treatments comfortably.

OFFERS CHILDREN SPECIALIZED AREAS
Pediatric department of Memorial Bahcelievler Hospital was designed in consideration that each child in different age groups differs
regarding the need for a waiting area. Designs with different games and accessories for children were brought to life. Various activity
areas were set up. Separate waiting areas were set up for healthy children, diseased ones and the ones that are there just for control
or vaccination purposes. An open spaced playground was designed for children to have fun while waiting for examination or treatment.
There is also a fun area in the pediatrics department especially designed for children. In that area there are informative and fun
graphic novels following the adventures of an alien and a robot. Areas specifically designed for children are not limited to clinics alone.
There are also children play areas on the inpatient floors. There is a giant firetruck on the floor for children to get in and play on.

AWARD WINNING BIOPHILIC DESIGN
In Memorial Bahcelievler’s lobby, an art piece formed to be an ecological habitat where marble meets natural greenery is displayed.
This piece was awarded first place by Marble Garden Biophilic Design. The structure, which hosts plants and soil directly taken from
nature and redesigned in such way that it would take a new form, enables patients to meet nature during their treatment period.
SYMBOL OF FREEDOM, BIRDS
In the wide corridors of hospital’s clinic and the waiting rooms, world renowned naturalist and painter John James Audubon’s “Birds
of America” piece and several other depictions of Turkey’s bird sanctuaries inspired by the aforementioned piece are displayed. The
world of birds that are a piece of the nature concept, is depicted in the artworks as it consists of freedom, contentment, lightness,
comfort and peace while making up an element which visitors can walk through.
DIJITAL ART
For patients to feel themselves within nature, wholly artworks bearing the characteristic colors of nature such as green, blue, yellow
and white are displayed on digital screens. The sound of waterfall in the background and the scenery of the running water is reflected
on every floor of the clinic, on and after from the lobby in the entrance.
MUSIC
With a piano located in the lobby live performances are held in the hospital and throughout the day soothing music is broadcast.
