f) Summary of the Movie:
In the beginning, a deer that was crashed by a truck suddenly came back to life as a
zombie was shown. Seok-woo was a busy fund manager who cannot give time to his
daughter and was in the process of divorcing with his wife. It was the night before her
birthday, when Su-an asked her father to take her to Busan to visit her mother. Seok-woo
firmly declined and said that he will take her the next day but in the end, he accompanied her
daughter to Busan and that was when the zombie outbreak started.
The father and daughter managed to board to the train to Busan before the zombie
outbreak has completely spread. However, an infected girl was able to board the train which
started the chaos inside the train and infected a lot of people. They were able to group with
other people who want to survive namely Yoon Sang-hwa, Seong-kyeong, Min Yong-guk, Kim
Jin-hee, Yon-suk, and others. This group of people managed to reach the next stop at
Daejeon where the military is waiting for them to be quarantined, but the soldiers turned out to
be infected already so they get back to the train. Going back to the train was a disaster, and
then the survivors got separated into three groups. On their way to Busan which was the only
safe place, the survivors were able to get together again but Yon-suk and the others were
hesitant to let the group of Seok-woo join them saying that they might be infected. Facing
more problems, the railroad was blocked and so they had to transfer to a different train where
only Seok-woo, Su-an, Seong-kyeong, and Yon-suk survived. Seok-woo also discovered that
it was their company’s plant that caused the disaster they are all in.
Sadly, Yon-suk was already infected and Seok-woo had to protect his child and Seongkyeong. The main character was bitten but successfully able to get rid of Yon-suk. He bid
farewell to Su-an and jumped off the train to save the two. Su-an and Seong-kyeong finally
reached the tunnel leading to Busan and was about to get killed because the soldiers cannot
identify if they were zombies or not, but thanks to Su-an’s singing the two of them were saved.
