NOTE: The Airworthiness Limitations section is FAA-approved and specifies the inspections and maintenance required by Parts 43.16 and 91.403 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, unless an alternative program has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). NOTE: The inspections, intervals, and component time limits detailed in the Airworthiness Limitations sections of this manual are mandatory and must be adhered to in order to comply with type certification for the Model 560XL airplane. Airworthiness Limitations Documents A. 3. This chapter gives the mandatory intervals for components and airplane structures that are life-limited or that require scheduled inspection to maintain the airworthiness of the airplane. This chapter applies to items such as fatigue components, structures and systems, which are considered a part of the certification process. The Airworthiness Limitations chapter of the Model 560XL Maintenance Manual contains the following sections: (1) Chapter 4-10-01, AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS INSPECTION TIME LIMITS provides a list of all airworthiness limitations maintenance tasks for the Model 560XL Airplane. (a) Chapter 4-10-01, Table 3, System and Structural Component Time limit Tasks, provides a consolidated list of component time limit tasks duplicated from 4-10-01 to assist operators in maintenance planning. (2) Chapter 4-10-02, AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS INSPECTION TIME LIMITS (Russian Certified Airplanes) provides a list of all airworthiness limitations maintenance tasks for Model 560XL Airplanes certified in Russia. (a) Chapter 4-10-02, Table 3, Russian System and Structural Component Time Limit Tasks, provides a consolidated list of component time limit tasks duplicated from 4-10-02 to assist operators in maintenance planning. (3) Chapter 4-12-00, AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS INSPECTION DOCUMENTS provides a list of all Model 560XL airworthiness limitation inspection documents and the associated inspection intervals. Definitions A. System Maintenance Requirements (Refer to Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Time Limits, Table 1 in this chapter.) (1) A System Maintenance Requirement is a mandatory system or component inspection specifically defined to detect latent, safety-related failures. B. Structural Limitations Items (Refer to Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Time Limits, Table 2 in this chapter.) (1) An Structural Limitation Item is a mandatory structural inspection of critical items defined during the certification process using a fatigue or damage tolerance assessment. Limitations A. Composite Control Surface Paint Colors (1) The upper surface of flaps must have a color of paint having a reflectance value of 26 or greater. For additional information, refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Exterior Finish - Cleaning/Painting. 4-00-00 © TEXTRON AVIATION INC. This section includes all airworthiness limitations maintenance tasks for the Model 560XL Airplane. NOTE: Refer to Chapter 5-12-00, MSG-3 Inspection Documents and Other Required Tasks for a complete list of the Model 560XL scheduled inspection requirements. B. The intervals specified represent the maximum time allowable between inspections. C. The MM task numbers are hyperlinked to task details in this manual. The Zone number(s) are also hyperlinked to Chapter 6, Airplane Zoning - Description and Operation to assist in planning and completing the tasks. D. System Maintenance Requirements (1) System inspections and Component Time Limits are given in Table 1 and Table 3. The tasks and intervals specified are mandatory and cannot be changed, escalated, or deleted without the concurrence of the responsible Aircraft Certification Office (ACO). E. Structural Inspection Time Limits (1) In accordance with §25.571(a) Inspection Time Limits and Component Time Limits are defined for the Model 560XL and presented in Table 2 and Table 3. F. Corrosion Prevention (1) The airworthiness limitations recondition and discard intervals assume corrosion is maintained to Level 1 or better. Level 1 is achieved by maintaining the aircraft according to the MSG-3 maintenance procedures identified in this Model 560XL Maintenance Manual. Refer to Chapter 5-10-00, Maintenance Planning Document, Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP) for further details. G. For (1) (2) (3) H. This section provides an overview of all Model 560XL airworthiness inspection intervals and associated Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents. NOTE: B. Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents are provided to group various tasks with the same interval, and facilitate completing the tasks at a specified downtime. Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents are numbered as shown below in sequential order, with Inspection Document 4-12-MA the first Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents due. Chapter Section Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Document MA 4- 12 -MA NOTE: C. Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents and other required tasks listed in Chapter 5-12-00, MSG-3 Inspection Documents and Other Required Tasks, Table 1, and Table 2. provide the basis to set up a maintenance tracking and reporting system for the Standard Manufacturer’s Recommended Continuous Airworthiness Inspection Program. The "M" designation preceding the document letter indicates that these are mandatory inspections, which are required as a condition of certification. The following Table 1 Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents provide links to all Model 560XL Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Documents and tasks associated to the Standard Manufacturer’s Recommended Continuous Airworthiness Inspection Program and Custom Continuous Airworthiness Inspection Program.
