QUESTION:
Is a landing required in a garage at the door into the house?

Section 312 - Landings
ANSWER:
Yes. A minimum of three feet by three feet landing is required on each side of egress doors, except at the
top of a flight of stairs provided the door does not swing over the stairs. The landing shall not be more than
one and one half inches lower than the threshold if the door swings over it or eight and one-quarter inches
lower if the door does not swing over it.
