What is Sun Allergy (Solar Urticaria?)
Sun allergy is a common allergy to
hives on the skin exposed to the sun.
sunlight that causes
Itchy, red spots or spots usually appear within minutes of
exposure to the sun. They can last for a short time or for
hours.
Allergies can be chronic, but the symptoms can be treated.
Symptoms of Sun Allergy (Solar Urticaria)
The main symptoms of sun allergy are reddish patches on your
skin that itch, sting, and burn. If the hives cover a lot of your skin,
you may have other common allergy symptoms, such as:
•Redness of exposed skin
•Itching
•Burning sensation
•Pain
• Small elevated rashes
• Dryness and scaling of skin
• Blisters
Cause of Sun Allergy (Solar Urticaria)
Hyper Sensitivity:- Sunlight allergy is caused by hyper sensitivity
reaction of body towards sunlight
Exposure to Certain Substances:- Sunlight activates body to produce
antibodies that stimulates the secretion of histamines and other
chemicals.
Ayurvedic View:- Ayurveda also says that during afternoon, there are
chances for aggravation of Pitha dosha due to intensity of sunlight.
