A. Drill
We will play charades. Do you know what it is?
It is a game wherein an individual will act out something that she had picked in
the container. The first one who got the word correctly will get a special prize. I’ll
be picking up names here in the list then she will be the one who will act out the
scenario she picked. Don’t worry these words are simple and easy.

There are three DEGREES OF COMPARISON:
1.Positive Degree -shows no comparison.
Example: The strawberry is big.
Ranzel is pretty.
Her dress is long.
2.Comparative Degree-is used to compare two nouns or pronouns.
•We Add -er to the adjectives to show comparison. The word than is placed after the
adjective.
Example: The apple is bigger than the strawberry.
3.Superlative Degree-is used to compare more than two nouns or pronouns.
• We Add -est to the adjectives to show comparison. The word the is placed before the
Superlative adjective.
Example: The watermelon is the biggest of the fruits.
• For adjectives ending in e, drop the e before adding -er or -est.
Example: cute – cuter – cutest
• For adjectives ending in a consonant and y, change the y to i before adding -er or -est.
Example: happy – happier – happiest
easy - easier - easiest
• For adjectives that have a single vowel before a final consonant, double the final
consonant before adding -er or -est.
Example: fat – fatter – fattest
hot – hotter - hottest
• For long adjectives, use more and most to compare people, places, or things.
• Use more to compare two people, places, or things. Example: more beautiful
• Use most to compare more than two. Example: most beautiful
