Innovative Management for Turbulent Times There is a famous saying "get everyone in the boat rowing in the same direction, failure to do so, dilutes the effort of the organization and ultimately leads to mediocre performance." Learning to lead others is a critical skill for today's managers. The question is, how will you lead so that others will follow? Given that managers aren’t gauged solely based upon their own contributions and largely based upon everyone else’s or dependent upon subordinates but up to what extent? It's sad that some managers weren’t able to fulfill the role they are supposed to. Too much delegation to their subordinates and not effectively and efficiently managing the organization by being complacent and unable to adapt to the rapid pace of this changing environment or by just going with the flow of the business. Managers are supposed to focus on innovation and being competitive in this hypercompetitive world. In some businesses, these aren’t really happening as they are just tied to their current situation and not thinking of a way to improve the current position of the business. They are unable to plan ahead, not properly delegating/allocating the tasks and most of the time too much delegation of the workload will also lead to low performance of the employees and the company position, and with this ineffective and inefficient management will lead to the company mediocre performance. That’s why to effectively and efficiently see the gaps in the management the company must perform or conduct an evaluation. The position where the company is what describes or defines the kind of manager he/she is.
