Waste and pollution (Wondalem Misganaw Golie) This article is intended to provide a brief overview of waste and pollution caused by misconceptions and practices in human life, in various institutions, countries and the world at large. The article focuses on the wastage and pollution human life, health, beauty, secrecy, profession, scholars, time, peace, wealth, children, the environment, the people, future generations and nature. The purpose of this article is to advise individuals, institutions and leaders to carefully study their thinking and practices before implementation to avoid wastage and pollution. We use many things in our daily lives. We eat, drink, and wear to live. But because we do not use things properly, we waste our wealth and resources. Waste causes pollution in many ways. If there is waste anywhere, there will be pollution. Pollution may not be limited to environmental pollution. The clothes or shoes we wear should be modest. If it is too much, the clothes will be wasted and the wearers will be contaminated. We should eat and drink in moderation; just as we check the clothes we wear before buying or buy them in moderation. If we eat too much or drink too much, not only will food and drink be wasted, but our bodies will be contaminated and we will be exposed to accident and disease. If we do not pick and choose words during discussion, we will be polluting others. If there is to be no pollution in a house or an area or a country, we must first eliminate waste. Children do not know much about good and bad at an early age. They often waste more food than they eat because they do not know how to eat properly and do not know the pros and cons. Worse still, their clothes, food, and storage space are contaminated. Individuals in different institutions and countries may have their own secret practices and issues. For the sake of public and national security, the confidentiality of individuals, institutions and the country must be handled with care and should not be disclosed to the third party. If personal, institutional, and national secrets are leaked and wasted, the consequences can be devastating. Those who squander the secrets of individuals, institutions, and nations through selfishness and temporary gain are people whose minds are lost and defiled. If secrecy is unnecessarily disclosed and wasted, it will never be repaired and recovered. At any rate, if secrecy is wasted and contaminated, life will be more wasted and spoiled, country and its nationalities will be polluted and infected. Therefore, our experience and competence in confidentiality must be high. 1 One of the most important manifestations of a country's growth is the development of manufacturing industries and the ability to produce properly. If a factory does not follow waste reduction methods during production, it may incur a lot of waste. As a result, not only will the factory fail to achieve what they set out to do, but it will also damage the environment and the health of others. Atmospheric pollution is a major cause of global warming and the spread of many diseases. Numerous scientific studies have shown that cleaner production is the key to sustainable development. Waste-free production can be implemented in a variety of ways, such as properly select or modify raw materials, improve production methods and develop and use better technology, follow improved production practices, improve or modify the type of product being produced, and recycle and reuse. Although many countries around the world believe in and practice this waste-free production system, it will continue to be difficult to solve in the long run unless it is implemented in all parts of the world. Just as the Creator made us beautiful, so He made the earth beautiful. Our forefathers told us that most of our country was covered with natural forests a few decades ago. When we have to use and nurture the gift of nature, we are wasting the gift due to misconceptions, misuse, and malpractices. After all, we began to see deforestation, drought, and soil erosion. The whole natural resources are wasted and caused much pollution. We are currently working hard to replace wasted natural resources and to clean up the mess. But even if we waste and spend as much money as we want, completely replacing nature is a very difficult and costly task. It is well-known that human beings need to care for and use nature properly, but when they are greedy for temporary gain and do not understand the consequences, they waste their precious and irreplaceable nature and permanently pollute everything. When the Creator created women, he created them in a way that was more beautiful than men. However, some women become insane and waste their natural beauty. On the other hand, some seem to be wasting their time trying to find more beauty than the Creator gave them. Without realizing it, they rush to do what everyone else is doing. To this end, they squander their resources by buying various man-made chemicals and depleting their natural beauty. Adding artificial beauty to their face is a time-consuming beauty, but the end result is another incurable skin loss and pollution. Just as a mad person does not have long lasting natural appearance and beauty, so mad women waste their money and ridicule the beauty bestowed on them by the Creator. Waste and pollution do not stop there. They are wasting their time and resources by trying to repair their damaged skin and move 2 from one hospital to another. In order to restore the beauty that they have voluntarily lost and desecrated, they re-welded again and created more waste and pollution. If it does not, the waste and pollution will continue. They paint their nails to beautify them. They spend a lot of money on nail polish and removers to get rid of paint. They always say “stick me first, and then untie me”, just like someone else said. In fact, these women have created jobs for others by wasting themselves and polluting themselves. Humans entertain themselves in a variety of ways to refresh their tired minds. Still, everything should be in order. Drinking may not be a bad thing at all. But overindulgence does more harm than good. Drinking too much water can lead to waste and pollution. If the river overflows, it will destroy the environment. Some people go out of their way to earn money or to pay for leisure activities, and then they waste their money on unplanned drinking. After they are contaminated, they drink in large quantities. Along the way, they collided head-on with a tree, a wall, a rock, or a human being. Intoxication is a major cause of over-indulgence. Some are more likely to become emotionally contaminated by them and create contamination on others. They are less able to control themselves and use and may have no the chance of using control and protective methods, and they are more susceptible to various diseases. In all, excessive wastage can lead to an incurable disease. Many meetings and discussions are held on various institutional and national issues. Messages are also transmitted using a variety of media. Words need to be chosen and measured when speaking, and communicating in meetings and in various media. If there is a waste of words, others are more likely to be infected. Excessive and inaccurate speech can leave a lasting impression on the next generation. Leaders are removed from office and reassigned for various reasons, both within the government structure and in various organizations. In their place, another person is appointed. But when we acknowledge the role of a relative or a person of our own ethnicity, we appreciate the class, look forward to a big change, and think that we will benefit. However, it is possible to make a difference and work for the benefit of the people only when the right professional is assigned to the right place and the assigned professional has respect for the profession and has a purpose and commitment to the task assigned to him or her. An educated workforce plays an important role in the development of a country. To this end, countries are allocating large budgets to build educational institutions. They educate their citizens at great expense, both at home and abroad. This issue has been widely used in 3 our country and is still being addressed. The educated manpower will be effective and will benefit for the development of the country when it is properly managed and assigned to the right field of work. In the history of our country, not only is the loss of resources, knowledge and skills, but also a huge gap in the development of the country due to the fact that the standards and organizations are not based on the level of education, qualifications and professionalism. There have been many problems with job placement. We have seen a professional graduate in the field of agriculture be appointed head of the health bureau. We have seen a graduate in mathematics be appointed as a public administrator at various levels to lead the nation. Others are seen as wasting their professions, as well as wasting resources and human resources. Some, without proper education, have been entrusted with a great deal of responsibility and are wasting resources. There are countless people who have taken the lead without education and led the people to the abyss, squandered the country's resources and polluted generations. It is a sad and embarrassing story of those who run health facilities without any formal education, they consider themselves as doctors, waste medicine, make people miserable, and wasted human lives. Although a scholar can contribute a lot to the development of a country by creating a generation, a leader who has not properly completed his/her tenth grade is seen to be wasting and polluting the educated manpower. In some institutions, we have seen unqualified students who have failed exams being assigned to serve in that institution. It is common for people to take advantage of opportunities to retaliate, waste, and pollute teachers. Not only is it not the right thing to do, it is the least important thing to the educated community. There are a lot of waste and pollution going on to make educated people feel like criminals and to be thrown around and embarrassed. The biggest example of this is the scholars who have been displaced from their jobs in Addis Ababa University. The case of these scholars is well-known, but there are countless scholars who have been expelled from higher education institutions for various reasons. People are abused so much that they hate their profession. Our country needs many professionals in various fields. However, due to systemic and managerial problems, professional migration occurs frequently. Many engineers, medical professionals, teachers of higher education, as well as scholars of various professions have been displaced or forced to flee the country. This is a man-made waste of scholars. The waste of scholars has caused great pollution on the minds of scholars and their successors. On the other hand, some scholars are addicted to various drugs, wasting their personal and professional skills, and squandering their trust in the country and the people. To become a politician, the person must first be determined to make sacrifices for the country and the people and persevere in his/her cause. In politics, the people and the country should benefit from the political outcome, not the politicians. When politicians enter the political world, they begin to think that the ideology they are 4 pursuing will benefit the people and the country. Politics should be for the benefit of the people and the country, not for the job market. Some politicians are wasting their time and resources on their people and their country. Power should also benefit the people, not the authority and the party. If left unmanaged, they can be left astray and lose the right path. When designing administrative systems and other directives, they should take into account the potential negative effects of waste and pollution on the people. The socio-economic and political issues that have been wasted and polluted in our country are innumerable. Instead of believing in his own body, he has done a great deal of waste and pollution to worship his race or nationality. Many displacements and movements have been made to organize people into their nation. As a result, a lot of energy, time, and money are wasted. The end result, however, is a major generational pollution. The challenges our country has faced so far and the current situation are sufficient indicators. Instead of strengthening people's unity and building bridges, it wasted a lot of time and money to organize them and build a wall between them. It has been years since preaching and hatred have been preached. The end result, however, is not solidarity, but the relentless loss of life and unimaginable displacement and genocide. This has left our country desolate and polluted. In the meantime, the most amazing thing is the annual Nationalities Day, which is celebrated every year in our country to unite the people who have lost their order, divided, wasted and hated. We have seen that people spend a lot of money to celebrate the holiday, waste their time and work, and waste money that can feed and sustain all nationalities. A large amount of budget has been allocated for the construction of many roads, buildings, gymnasiums and football fields. It is seen that the budget allocated for the project is already wasted before the construction is completed. This is not only a waste of national resources but also a waste of generation. Corruption is one of the major obstacles to the development of a country. Corruption is not just a waste of resources but a major scourge. It has become a common practice in our country to see people who have lost their morals and who are infected with theft, squandering the country and the people in order to glorify the country. Ironically, those who are appointed to fight corruption are often tainted by corruption. Marriage is the family's natural source of life, and religious books teach that marriage is honorable and sacred. However, marriages are honored and sanctified only when they are legally binding. But on the contrary, most marriages in the North and in some parts of the country are based on early marriages. Early marriage is a system in which children under the age of majority are forced to marry. Family law in Ethiopia stipulates that marriage must be performed only with the consent of 5 both spouses over the age of 18 years. Because children have the right to grow up and learn to make their own decisions, early marriage not only harms children but also carries severe legal penalties. Girls are more likely to experience premarital sex, and boys are also to be affected. Girls who marry early are forced to drop out of school. Young girls have little access to reproductive education and health care, and often lack the knowledge or courage to use contraceptives. These girls are forced to have children without being physically and mentally prepared. Teenagers are more likely to be exposed to fistulas and other sexually transmitted diseases. In general, early marriages are a major economic disaster for married parents, and not only do they endanger the psychological and health of married children, but also making them to have inferior feeling for the rest of their lives. In general, early marriages are a serious abuse of children, a great loss of wealth and life, and a consequence of the loss of human life. It is common for couples to enter into weddings to enjoy a happy marriage and family, as well as to spend time with their loved ones. However, wedding expenses may not reflect the wealth and income of the couple or their family, and they may incur additional debt. The future of a marriage will depend, not on the number of parties and on the occasion of the wedding, but on the couple and the will of the Creator. Excessive spending on weddings can not only be a huge waste of resources but also a risk to the couple's future. When they have to raise a child, they spend the rest of their lives by paying the debt wasted on the wedding day. Worse still, they are more likely to get married and get divorced. Our country has many ancient cultural and historical values. We have a responsibility to protect and nurture these resources so that these stories and values can be sustained and passed down from generation to generation. Examples of this are the Far East and Southeast Asian countries. These countries do not negotiate their on national cultural and historical values. Therefore, they have preserved their history and culture for centuries. We are influenced by the culture of the other world in our country. Western thinking and culture pollutes our country. This is a huge waste of culture and history. In general, many things are wasted on lack of knowledge and capacity, selfishness, temporary gain, systemic problems, dishonest leadership, and ignorance of the consequences. Because of waste, wealth, time, country, beauty, health, age, peace, love, life, thought, personality, generation, and so on are wasted. As a result, everything is polluted. Environmental, social and economic events are 6 also at risk due to waste and pollution. If pollution is to be avoided, waste must be prevented first. Controlling waste in all sectors is essential if a country is to survive as a nation and a generation to be saved. If we want sustainable development and peace, we need to know and eliminate waste and pollution as a big, important and unique tool. 7
