Today I am going to share about the effects and differences of social media on both generations.
Social media has emerged years ago, generation Z and millennials are the ones who are involved in
this change. But their behaviour towards those is different and that what makes the effect of social
media is also different on both sides. I will explain several effects of social media on Millennials and
Gen Z
Those who are born in 1980 – 1995 counted as millennials and they are the early adopters of social
media and they need to learn more about social media because they are not born with it, they need
to learn to get to it.
Millennials also are excited because of this technological advance that causes them to share too
much, research found that the one who share many things, their sadness, their happiness, their love
life, etc in social media is mostly millennials, and they also strive to have as many contacts or friends
as possible in their social media account regardless of whether they knew that person or no.
For the gen Z, those who were born after 1995 are already born in digital advance, they naturally will
learn about it and don’t need as much effort as the millennials to learn to use social media. People in
this generation also really respect their digital privacy and don’t necessarily need many friends on
their social media, they understand that just because they can share information with the rest of the
world, doesn't mean they have to share it all. In other words, they learn from the mistakes of the
older generations.
The effect is not much different on both sides, the symptoms in millennials can also be found on gen
Z and vice versa. As long as the effect brings a better use in our lives it doesn’t matter, but it will be a
bad problem if that effect turns our life into a negative one. Everything must have its plus and minus
side, in the end, it is all up to us whether we want to go to the left or right.
