Review of (Related) Literature
 A review of write-ups, readings, studies and all other types of literature published or
on-line related to the present study to determine similarities and differences between
the past & present studies.
 Maybe books, journals, magazines, novel, poetry, yearbook, encyclopedia, etc.
 Approaches to writing the review
- chronological, topical, alphabetical, local/foreign, conceptual/empirical literature
Purpose of ROL
 To deepen insight into the field of study for the researcher must be an expert in the
field he is studying
 To determine the state-of-the-art in the field one is studying
 To make sure one is not making a study done recently in the same area with the same
variables
