My Life as an Album Cover
You will choose an album cover that represents your life. You may create your own musical group or
use an existing musician/band.
You must connect your idea to the Pop Art style as you develop your idea. from 1958-1975. Here is a
list of steps to follow that will help you develop a successful album cover.
Step One: Brainstorming, Sketchbook
It is important to use brainstorming in the creative process. This is the process of creative collaboration,
where you build on other’s ideas through exploring, making connections and imaginative thinking.
Sketch your ideas in your sketchbook to begin to plan your best ideas.
Step Two: Select your best idea. Rough Draft
In selecting the best idea, consider how the idea matches the theme of the album cover, Pop Art meets
music meets you. Keep in mind the design of your album needs to be balanced. Put your sketchbook
ideas onto your rough draft paper.
Step Three: Putting your ideas on paper. Final Draft
Use the 12x12 paper and transfer your rough draft to the final copy. Keep in mind when you go larger,
your design may change. Still consider the balance and design of your cover.
Guidelines for creating an album cover.
Considering the question, “Who am I?”, create an album cover that reflects the pop art style while
maintaining good balance and design. You must include pop art lettering.
