Principal Component Analysis (PCA) scaled coordinates
Ancient samples, already in the scaled G25 format, were obtained from the
‘Eurogenes Ancient Individual Samples (scaled)’ database. Additional
samples in either FASTQ or BAM format were obtained via the European
Nucleotide Archive and converted into the scaled G25 components format.
The combined ancient data set was sorted according to archaeological era.
An admixture analysis was emplyed to examine matching patterns between
G25 components of the modern Ashkenazic male and the ancient samples,
according to archaeological era.
Cultural identifications were made for the highest matching ancient samples
from each archaeological era.
The findings were published into a series of mapped charts showing the
ancient samples, the genomic percentages represented by each sample,
and the cultural identification of each sample.
The method is applicable to both male and female Ashkenazim. Please see
ending slide for contact information.
