RATIONALE:
Through this policy, the DepEd fully supports the continuing professional
development of its teaching personnel based on the principle of lifelong learning
and DepEd’s commitment to the development of teachers potential aimed towards
their success in the profession. This can be done through the school-based LAC,
which primarily functions as a professional learning community for teachers that
will help them improve practice and learner achievement.
With the School LAC Session teachers may create a functional basic education
system in school that will develop productive and responsible citizens equipped
with the essential competencies, skills and values for both life-long learning and
employment. Furthermore, the LAC Session will strengthen the commitment of
teachers aimed to their development and potential towards their success in the
profession. Through this, professional and personal educational activity of teachers
will improve as to their efficiency, ability, knowledge and motivation in their
professional work amidst pandemic.
