Writing: Task 1: The bar graph illustrates how often people consumed junk food in the USA in three different years: 2003, 2006 and 2013. Overall, in different of times, the majority of population in the USA tried fast food once a week and once or twice a month while the least popular groups were the group of people who ate every day and never ate. American people consumed fast food more often in 2006 than in 2013. The percentage of people eating junk food once a week and once or twice a month were above 25% in all three years. Even in 2006 and 2013, there were 32.5% of the population ate these food once a week and once or twice a month respectively. Whilst, the proportion of citizens who never consumed fast food or ate them every day were always below one in twenty. In 2006 and 2013, the proportion of people eating fast food every day, a few times a years or never were the same. Task 2: In modern life, besides the time for work family, people need time for themselves to relieve stress and burden and to enjoy what real life is. This directly makes films become more and more essential for individuals. Each person has their own purpose to watch films. Some people watch films for entertainment only while the others believe that films also need to convey educational lessons. In the following paragraphs, I shall discuss these two mutual opinion and put forth my own view. First and foremost, films do not really have target customers. They are made for everyone. Not only the adults but also the children do so that films should be made for entertainment only. These children are too young to understand any themes from the films. Even if they can guess what the film is about, no one can ensure that these kids understand correctly the educational value of the film. With regard to the adults or the older generation, they have to work and learn all the daytime. It seems that they do not really have the demand to absorb any hidden messages or lessons. On the other hand, there is a group of viewers whose their point of views are totally different. These people are in favor of films that can bring practical lessons for them. Films have various genres and topics such as action movie, romantic movies, documentaries, cartoons, etc. The directors make the films based on the social situations of his country so that the films definitely reflects the life of the viewers. Through films, they can find solutions or learn from the mistake of the characters to apply to their situation. On top of that, when people watch their favorite films, they pay more attention than when they study. This explains the reason why the educational lessons in the film are memorized in the longer time than these words in the book. To conclude, each group of viewers have the own reasons and these reasons are persuasive. From my point of view, I am in favor of films with educational value. These films help me a lot in my life no matter what kind of film it is.
